Is Terminator 2: Judgement Day Overrated?
T2 is mediocre, completely overrated.
Doesn't hold a candle to The Dark Knight, Lord of the Rings, Empire Strikes Back or The Godfather Part II.
At least I can agree with that one.
@mandarinestro: How does it compare to Godfather II though?
Hell no. If any thing is overrated its The Dark Knight.
Exactly. T2 was the $hit!!
It's pretty awesome. Definitely the best in the series, definitely the best Arnold movie, the best James Cameron movie, and one of my favorite childhood movies. When I was 5, watching it for the first time, I bawled like it was the end of the world during the 'thumbs up' scene at the end. But a lot of people say it's like the best movie ever. It's not even the best action movie. The acting is mediocre, and now the special effects are out of date, the story was relatively simple by high concept action standards. There's just something about it that makes it pure entertaining fun. Sort of like the mummy. But better

Personally I thought both were awesome. Now The Dark Knight Rises. That was overrated.
I liked T-2, but I prefer the first Terminator.
Bingo!
No, nothing's overrated.
Pulp Fiction is overrated
@modernww2fare: YOUR FACE IS OVERRATED!!!!
I think t1 is overrated. Acting is horrible, and I mean HORRIBLE. Outfits and music were so goofy, it's not even funny, and the terminator itself was the most boring part of it. There wasn't a suspenseful or entertaining moment in the whole movie, besides the sexy time.
@the_stegman: thought nothing was overrated?
O_o
Lol
He insulted Pulp Fiction, it's given me
Probably not top ten material but definitely one of the best action films of all time. Perfect balance between pratical and CG effects. One of the rare films where Arnold will make you feel an emotion other than manliness. It also has one of the best female characters in all of movies (other than Ripley) with Sarah Connor.

this
Absolutely not.
I consider T2 to be the greatest film of all time. Just my opinion.

+1
I liked T-2, but I prefer the first Terminator.
Bingo!
I'm speechless. I prefer T2, but T1 was still awesome.
T2, Aliens, Godfather 2, and Empire Strikes Back are on my short list for possible greatest sequels of all time that are also better than the originals.
Alien is give or take as good as Aliens in my opinion. I suffered through the Godfather (thus never watched part 2. I'm not big into the gangster genre on the whole. tbh) Empire is the best of the SW franchise. Hands down.
Some other badass sequels of various genres.
Blade 2 is the best of his franchise, Winter Soldier is better then First Avenger (as well as being my favorite CBM), Raimi's Spider-Man 2 is better then original, Halloween 2 (1981) is the best in that franchise. The Color of Money is better then the Hustler. I could go on and on.
@frozen: Will watch it.
Edit: Didn’t see you mention Empire Strikes Back, that's good too.
Terminator 2 overrated?
Terminator 2 is probably my favorite sci-fi movie of all time and easily one of my favorite movies of all time.
Though I also loved the first Terminator movie as well (Michael Biehn is a boss).
I would take both Terminator 1 & 2 Titanic and Avatar any day of the year.
It's still a really good film though. The retarded teenagers of today claim everything is overrated.
It is a great film. Not overrated one bit. My favourite out of the Terminator films too.

I am not debating your opinion on this. I am just curious as to why you think Halloween 2 is better than the first? I haven't seen many people say that really.
I like gangster/crime films a fair bit but I found it hard to watch the Godfarther films, it is probably because maybe I was tired or not in the right frame of mind and I think they were showing them back to back and I just don't think they are the type of films to just binge watch. When I get around to watching them again, maybe that won't be the case. Or maybe it will.
I thought Dawn of The Dead was better than Night of the Living Dead as well.

I agreed with this user who I haven never had the pleasure of talking to before >.> <.<

Halloween 2 starts off good (with the freaky yet awesome ending of part 1 in recap, woot!) where Halloween is an hour of build up and a half an hour of scares. The slowburn atmosphere buildup of the original leaves me more bored then tense these days. Halloween 2 has more tension in that Laurie knows the Shape is coming for her and ratchets up the stakes. Lastly it has my favorite kill in all of horror moviedom, when the Shape puts a scalpel in the small of Nurse Franco's back and lifts her off her feet. Also Doc Loomis takes out our favorite boogeyman in a way that I had nightmares about when I first saw it as a youth.
I never seem to be in a mood to want to watch most gangster movies. I would put Good fellas down as my favorite, but I've only seen a handful in the last decade. They are often repetitive (in ways I don't dig) and way too damned long.
Night of the Living Dead honestly isn't a great (or even too good a) movie in my humble opinion, but I can't talk too bad about it without getting death threats.
@risingbean: Agreed on Blade 2, SM2, and Winter Soldier. I'm not a horror fan and have only seen the first Halloween, so I can't comment there.

You're missing out on some gems and a ton of C-rate crap. Most of my Netflix que seems to be bad horror movies..
Anyhow, If you liked Halloween I highly recommend Halloween 2*. I'd also recommend Trick R' Treat. It's probably the best horror movie made in the last decade or so.
* I do assume you speak of the original. Don't give the Rob Zombie garbage your time.
I liked T-2, but I prefer the first Terminator.

I prefer T1 because it's more thrilling, doesn't have the annoying kid John Connor and more stylish. I just think it's more memorable.
The Godfather Part II, The Dark Knight and The Empire Strikes Back are the best sequels (second film in the series only) IMHO. The Godfather Part II has to be the best though IMO.
