Is rape different in different countries?

I live in the UK and over here (for some reason) rape is considered bad, or.. "illegal". Was just wondering if this is the case in other places or if the act of rape is any different. I know in some countries it's considered the norm.

Also what are your thoughts on woman on man raping?

@i_like_swords: It's not different in the US of A. It's highly, highly, highly, frowned upon. There's not a single person that supports it or sees it as a norm in the US, except for prisoners of course.

Woman on man? Of course having the magnificently twisted f*cked up society it has, most people in the US laugh at men raped by women. There are others out there that will try to call me out on it and say I'm wrong, but most people think men that are raped by women are jokes.
