Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder that involves extreme mood swings often including going into a frenzied state called mania and symptoms of depression. Twice Odysseus murders a large group of people, the first time is after leaving Troy and encountering the Cicones and with no explanation he rapes and pillages there village then near the end of the Odyssey he slaughters the suitors at his house with his son just for not leaving his house for years and eating his food (which is bad but not bad enough to die for and Odysseus seemed to willing to do it). Also when trapped on Calypso's island which is described as paradise he is severely depressed every day (constantly crying) to such a degree that it seems to be caused by more than just missing his family especially since he willingly stayed on Circe's island for a year and only left because his men wanted to.

So he displays mania and symptoms of depression, both times lacking sufficient explanation for his behavior (other than the mental meddling by Athena with Odysseus to kill the suitors but what she did was closer to encouraging then forcing). Do you all agree with this idea that Odysseus is bipolar?
