Is it just me or CBR became complete jerks?

Not sure if the mods accept these discussions on the boards.

But I gotta get it out my chest. 5 years ago CBR was the site to visit and talk. Now they seem rather elitists as far who or what is allowed. Sure the reboot board was needed...but I tried it and it seems rather pretentious circle jerk going there....not that CV is any better *cough*

Never been there, but I do think CV has a lot of jerks on here nowadays.. 3 years ago this site was so much better.

Never really visited the CBR forums.

I don't really go on the CBR forums so yeah.

I've been there every once in awhile, and yeah, a large majority are rude/snobby.

But yeah, in my few visits there, the place isn't too welcoming.

Never been, every site as some jerks on it, based on my experiences it seems to be the ones that are regulars that have been there forever. But im one of those people on a different site that's not a forum but im relatively nice to everybody in the comment section, except for some of the trolls.

Never went there - but it's the internet, there will always be people who suck or are jerks.

I've been there, it was... meh mostly folks who have seen the movies and got drawn in by/for the character tournament pictures, some results you can't imagine..... Batman beat Thor.

Oops wrong site, KMC i meant i think. CBR I just been there a couple times to check on tips/news don't know that much about.

I go over there sometimes, there are some people that are really passionate about comics but some of them (I find) are real comic book purists and may sometimes come off as really pretentious and rude. It's a good website though, I really like their news section, and will occasionally check out their reviews.

I have an account over there. If you like certain characters like Cyclops prepare to endure a lot of bashing.

The Vine has its share of douches as well.

Comicalliance (Chris Sims who thinks rather too highly of himself especially when it comes to DC) and IGN (ign actually has some really nice writers and contributors) are also full of comic book purists and know it alls who claim that they are the correct ones. But then again Comic Vine isn't exactly welcoming (I haven't been coming here frequently as I use to because its getting out of control especially the DC bashing.)

Never even heard of that site. I think this one is enough for me. Welcoming enough even with the influx of "ugh" most of the time.

I like the site, don't spend much time on the forums there though. I think forums everywhere are a breeding ground for assholes. Just the nature of the beast.

All my bookmarks of old threads from there are useless now. That angers me.

IMDB Comic Book section is the lowest of the low.

@xcalibur: CBR was fine a few years ago, but like any site, things change, in this case things got bad for them. I mean ComicVine is cool still, but you get your stupid trolls or just all around jerky people. CBR is getting a little lame now for my taste. That's why I'm here.

This. Cbr has a bad forum layout, that isn't nearly as user friendly or rewarding as the Vine.

However, every place on the internet has people like that. People just need to start realizing that everybody starts somewhere just because you started doing something a little earlier or later or in a parallel dimension doesn't make you any better...okay maybe just a little better on that last one.

Only use CBR for news and even then, it's rarely due to my dislike of its layout.

They banned me just because they didn't like my username. "JokerTroller". And I didn't even troll :(

So I make another account, and they IP ban me.

That is why I am here...kind of. I dislike a certain character whom others were highly passionate toward. I got a warning because I mentioned another post from a different forum. Today I made fun of a # effort (no swearing, not bashing) and I got banned. A coworker who read the forums decided they wanted an account after I got banned because they thought it looked fun. I set them up and without thinking put in my own birthday. I got a longer ban for "ban something or other". I wrote the mod, explained the new one was not me but asked for my account to be terminated and my 1400 posts removed. The mod sent me a nasty email back, accused me of lying. I actually erased the email from preview as the tone was NASTY! Now my IP at home and the work IP are blocked from anyone reading the forums *which many had*. My bad for the error but it is allowing me to explore better places. It has become a place where depending on the character you can say what you want but not for others. Oh well. I do feel bad my coworker is forever blocked and no one else can even visit the community though.
