is it even possible for one war to kill us all?

In reality is it possible that one big war (war world 3 type) to have enough consequences to whipe out all of life from earth?

Probably not. You'll always have countries like Sweeden and Switzerland that stay out of everyone's $h!t and thus won't be attacked. Most likely. Then you have Australia way the hell over there not bothering anyone. They survive on a daily basis with the worlds deadliest snakes, sea life and spider so I'm not even convinced a nuke would kill them.

even if they do stay out of it they'd still be affected....they still import food and other essential products from other countries....think about what happened in Kingdom Come....America's bread basket was wiped out and it affected the entire world

If for some reason all the countries in the world decided it'd be a good idea to use every nuclear weapon they have, then yes, the entire earth would be destroyed. In reality that would never happen, because not one country, nevermind all of them, would use that much power.

I think life will continue to exist. Whether civilization as we know it will exist, that is another story.

Nobody will bother to kill the small-fry island countries. So humanity will survive.

As I understand it, it would only take around 50-100 strategic nuclear detonations to make the Earth uninhabitable due to nuclear winter, sterilization, ect. There are currently around 4,000 active nuclear warheads over the world, with another 13,000 inactive ones on standby.

For the time being, the situation has cooled enough that most countries would hesitate to even fire a nuke in retaliation. But if by some extreme stupidity or bad luck, one nation were to force another into that corner, it could all be over.

You could nuke a place with another nuke, and send off a chain reaction.

It won't kill at the impact, but the radiation will do their job and kill everyone else.

I think we should test this theory to find out.

I don't know but when I survive the the war and find out there will be no more comics then the world will fear me for I will be its new lord because I will never know what happend at the end the title that I was reading.
