Is Captain America a Republican or Democrat?

Do you know who he supports?

He certainly does things the american way :)

I'm not a big Cap fan, but the impression I get from people who are is that he's much closer to being a Democrat.

However, I do maintain that the Civil War "let us register and control your powers for the good of society" debate is a near perfect metaphor for the real life "let us register and control your guns for the good of society" debate, and in that, Cap took the small governemnt/Constitutional side.

Neither he would be an independent and refuse to pledge his support to either party.

I assume he is a Democrat.

He acts pretty right wing.

Independent, he supports the American way, not a political party.

Independent. If asked this question he'd probably quote George Washington to show that a founding father warned us against the formation of parties.

I think he is more of a independent more then anything else.

Is this legit, or just speculation?

Does this truly matter? Captain America stands for what's right. He is not the symbol of politics regardless of the party.

He's neither. He believes in what is best for the people, not what's best for a political party. If he really existed I think he'd be disgusted with both parties, I know I am. 616 Cap at least. Ult Cap I couldn't speak on.

If asked, he wouldn't answer because of how it would be misinterpretated. (See the Thor meeting ghost Cap during the JMS Thor run).

And you can't really judge him by his actions, since stuff like Civil War was something he chose due to what was written in the constitution.

a soldier in peacetime is still a soldier, and follows the edicts of the Commander In Chief.

So during the Bush years, Cap was Republican, and for now, he's a Democrat.

There was a scan someone posted with Captain America's spirit (after he was assassinated) having a conversation with Thor. He pretty implied that he didn't identify with any political party.
