Is Canada really a better place than the US?
I don't know. I never lived or been to Canada. But I wouldn't trade being raised in the South for anything.
It's a rather broad question.
Better place to visit? To live? To do business?
Canada is better in some aspects than the US and the US is better in others.

better overall
Seeing as how Canada would get their rear kicked in, if America ever decided it needed extra space, nah.
I really don't see a big difference, after all the times I've been.
Seems quieter and more peaceful though.

...how is that supposed to stop Canada from being annexed by America?

@dccomicsrule2011: Canada has already kicked the united states ass... I think they could hold out longer than most people would expect.

LAL. Canada doesn't have the fiances, fire-power, or strategist America has. They'll be wrecked easily.
Also, how in the hell does something that happens 200 years ago, matter in todays world?

It won't stopped Canada from being hypothetically annexed in today's world, so, it's not really applicable, here.

Canadians would be living at the north pole or at the bottom the sea if the US wanted more land lol.
@lateralus: So you think Canada would do much better than the US against these 3rd world countries?
When you consider just how much trouble the U.S has with 3rd world countries, I wouldn't be bragging about America's military might.....even if we do spend more on "defense" than the next 20 countries combined.
This implies America actually goes all out when we battle the likes of Afghanistan and Iraq; because we don't.
@lateralus: So you think Canada would do much better than the US against these 3rd world countries?
No, I am implying that Canada will put up a stronger resistance against invasion than the 3rd world countries the U.S likes to invade

Minus dropping a nuke in Vietnam they went all out there.....still lost

I don't think people should be so proud of USA having military power, when they have access to people information from phone calls and emails. I mean the police already look like the military with all their weapons and freaking Tanks XD. I know only a few police department have them, but WTF does a cop need a tank.

That war was riddled with circumstances that Canada won't have the luxury of sporting, plus, it took place almost 50 years ago - America would push Vietnam sh!t in, if they decided to invade them in today's day and age.

Maybe they should so people wouldn't have to serve 4 tours of duty.

Then the US would have everyone b!tching to them including it's own population because of the straight up slaughter that would take place.

It already is a straight up slaughter. The U.S has killed over 100,000 Iraqi civilians

And if that were to happen, most of the free world would declare war on the U.S.......same if we invaded Canada without provocation.
If america wants a second vietnam war they should invade Canada....
Anyway I personally find both to have appealing aspects to them, personally I enjoy canada more though.
If america wants a second vietnam war they should invade Canada..
Except Canada won't have the advantages Vietnam boasted: their morals aren't as loose, they won't have the guerrilla tactic advantage, America stratagems won't be as bad, and really, the strength and money difference between the two these days are like comparing a house cat to a Lion.

You'd be surprised what you do when someone invades your country :P
the strength and money difference between the two these days are line comparing a house cat to a Lion.
Same could be said between America and Vietnam economies back in the day :P. It's time and popular opinion, as well as presidential bids that start and stop wars it seems these days....

Great way to start WW3 where the U.S is the villain
@lateralus: U.S. is always the villain nowadays :D, nothing would change.

@lateralus: The US could save the world on it's own from an alien invasion and other countries would find a way to make the US the Villain.
