Is AC Unity AC5?

Basically just what I ask in the title... Is Assassin's Creed Unity Assassin's Creed 5? I know the game isn't called AC5 Unity, but it does star a new assassin, and the numbered games have been the only to introduce new Assassins (console only.) I love the AC franchise and I'm thrilled for Unity, this just has me curious. Especially since ubisoft will be putting out two simultaneous Creed games.

Yes. Unity is another Assassin's Creed game. Not sure what Assassin's Creed Rogue is though.

Its an spin-off to Black Flag/interquel to AC III.

I've never heard of Armored Core. And I game a lot. What makes that more popular than Assassin's Creed? Lol.

It's not more popular, I just like it more. xD;;; I've spent enough time on Armored Core forums, I always think of it as AC, even if Assassin's Creed is a lot more well known.

So even though both initials are "AC" you don't assume the more popular game? More specifically the word UNITY thrown in the title? You would lose at Family Feud! xD

If they didn't put V in the title, then I wouldn't say this is the fifth title. It's probably just another spinoff.

I could never get into Assassin's creed, game play and mechanics are excellent but the story, characters and postulates of the game get on my nerves most of the times. Rogue could become the exception if done right.

@monsterstomp: Armored Core is DEH BEST MECH GAME EVAR but is not nearly as popular as Assassins Creed. Though IIRC it has just as many sequels as AC.

Armored Core has some cool games. Great if you're into mechs.

I'm more excited to play Rogue than Unity. Getting to play as the templars and see their side of the story sounds more interesting to me at this point of time.

Cool to see some other fans! What are you guys favorite games in the series? I've played 3, 5 and Verdict Day; but I'd really like to play more.

@kittyparker13: I believe it has more games than Assassin's Creed. I've only played 3 and For Answer (Don't play that one) but I still really like the games. Mechs are one of my favorite things in the world. I'm probably the second biggest Gundam fan here lol

Played both, didn't do anything for me. Again, mechanics and game-play are fluid, graphics are nice. The problem is the characters and the setting. None of them ever impressed me.

yes, I don't dislike the games per say mind you just can't get excited for them.
