Everyone have their thoughts on Star Wars being at Disney's hands being a good thing or a bad thing. But I am thinking about something different... When Lucas said Star Wars could go on without him, was pretty much true because Star Wars is one of the greatest mythologies ever made and can exist in. However the 6 original movies won't hold up for much longer in the future and there is a good chance people would like to make their own spin in the franchise and reboot the entire thing. Recasting the characters with new actors and slightly changing to some story.

Do you guys think its inevitable the chance they could reboot Star Wars? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?

Rebooting Star Wars would be horrible, they should focus on new stories.

True; it may not happen in 2015, but I think in a far future its definitely going to happen.

I'm surprised that everyone is focusing so much on the Star Wars side of this.....what about Indiana Jones??? Now I don't want them to reboot the films but it would be cool if they went the James Bond route and told stories set between the three original movies with a younger actor taking over as Indie....my choice for actor? I'm glad you asked...Bradley Cooper would be perfect as Indiana Jones

Unfortunately, Star Wars will likely be regurgitated into several iterations in the future.

take another look...the actor doesn't have to look exactly like a young Harrison Ford and Cooper's got the dry wit comedy aspect of Indie's personality and he could pull off the physical stuff as well

A reboot would be horrible, but id love some new stories set in the world.. Perhaps in the old republic were the force was bigger, with todays effects it could be really cool aslong as they dont put the story completely aside.

I don't care either way. I'd be able to enjoy it either way.

Wasn't really talking that much about his looks. I just can't picture him as Indiana Jones. I don't think he has it.

A reboot the already existing story? Not sure that'd work. I'd prefer if they just created an entirely new cast of characters.

Except Natalie Portman, they need to keep her. ;)

A reboot would be a bad thing and an unnecessary one.

What they should do is keep carrying Star Wars forward.

I am not saying that is what they are going to do for 2015, but give it 30 or 50 years or so, maybe they will forgo the entire Expanded Universe and remake the original movies.

Do not reboot, continue, there's tons of Star Wars EU material to use, how about we get some New Republic stories?

I'm not opposed to the idea. Do I trust the movie companies to do it well?

Not really, but the idea itself doesn't repulse me.

Honestly, the Star Wars universe has become such an unholy, diluted mess that it may eventually be the only way to go. If nothing else it would be a simple way to get away from the bad taste left by the prequels and everything. Not to mention the EU, where apparently Jedi and Sith have grown so powerful that they're making Dragonball Z characters look subtle and understated.

I think a Reboot would be intersting. Obviously they'd have to wait at least a decade. But then imagine a gritty reboot. That sounds cool to me.
