Inhuman Love (a hypothetical question)

Me and my friends often have philosophical debates about stupid stuff. One of the most interesting of these started because one of my friends confessed that he was attracted to rainbow Dash from MLP, not because of infatuation but because of her personality. According to him, her personality type was exactly what he wanted in a girl. He immediately regretted saying this when everyone began mocking him, but I raised an interesting question:

If we were to make contact with other sentient beings (such as Equestrians), would it be acceptable for a member of said species to love a human, or vice versa?

Really think about this one for a moment... Yeah it gets confusing really quick. It is wrong because they aren't humans or is it okay because it's not about physical attraction or...

I voted yes because saying no would make me sort of a hypocrite (furries, y'all), but everyone else was torn.

Can anyone help me ponder this?

The makers of pokemon have already addressed this. That's as far down the rabbit hole as I'm gonna go, though. For the record, I don't sexualize my favorite characters since it takes away from them and their stories in my opinion.

Disagreed. If the species can show signs of love towards you, you should be able to do the same. As long as there is a mutual agreement between the species, it's fine imo.

Maybe in the future we will find a new intelligent species(Alien life form or a new life form for example). Can't see why you wouldn't be allowed to start some kind of relationship.

As I said, love knows no boundaries. Just my opinion, of course.

Love already crossed the racial border, let it cross the species border!

I personally find inter-species relations both odd & dangerous.

If one actually was to fulfill their desires with another species we'd have to worry about the transference of diseases that are found in animals and their possible adaptation to impacting humans.

If love is mutually possible, I guess it's fine.

The medical hazards that lie within inter-species relationships are vast.

We do not need to welcome a new host of diseases into our daily lives because some people were really attracted to a cow or horse - or whatever species you personally find attractive.

@thetruebarryallen: Really though, there are a lot of people who have already had relationships with animals. There was even a guy in india who married a sheep. No diseases there. No saying there aren't any, but they are a lot more uncommon than you might think.

And I find all species attractive, in their own way ;)

Its ok to love an animal (Most people love their pets) but I think being sexual with one is disgusting. But being sexual with a humanoid alien would be fine lol

This is nothing new inter-species dating is already a thing between some farmers and sheep.

Poor couples have to deal with all the hate, ignorance, and phobia's of the world. What's so wrong about love? Why does marriage have to be just among humans. Don't deny their love and rights...
