One of those things that's been ticking in my head for a few years, and I never invested enough time to actually resolve. Whats the correct term for a person who is only your friend or find you acceptable only when you are saying or doing what they want you to be, what fits into their preference? Fair weather friend came to mind, but thats a person who is only around you when your not having problems I think.
@Edamame: eh...i don't really think so. a yes-man (sexist much, lol) would be someone on the other end of that who would be intentionally meeting the expectation of others for them to always be acting and speaking according to the other persons preferences. like i said I can't find the right fit for it either. i know your pretty good with terminology and thought you might have something i didn't.
@Edamame: how so would be that the yes-man, brown noser, ect is the one answering the expectation. the one i'm trying to name is the one with the expectation of others to be that way. sorry if my composition was confusing.
@Edamame: i think though i may be wrong that there aren't as many names applied there because its very common and generally overlooked as an okay or right way to be. when one does that they tend to think its normal, and that the world automatically got the memo as to what their expectations of who everyone else should be and just happily obliged, lol.
