If I may ask, who has/had the 'authority' in your family?

The authority in my family generally passed between who was more sober or farthest from a nervous break down at that moment 

Mum.. as my dad always he says, he's the head, but my mum is the neck that can control the head(s direction)

who makes the most money.

Authority in my family is given to the one who coördinates family functions, preaches ethics and condescends the most.

haha Cool. So far over 50% of family's home is controlled by the Mom. (Same in my family)

My father tried to be the emperor. But a Family isn't about that.

Everyone should have a say in what goes on and how the problems and situations are handled.

For my family it's whoever can yell louder

Wouldn't want to get on his bad side. especially after he got home from a hard days work.

Mom wins by default, due to Dad not being there. (Visits soooo do not count).
