If God was real, would you worship Him?

I would follow the devil. People always blame him for all the cool things in life and his followers aren't in your face all the time. Also, he just seems like a rad dude.

I don't even see how this could go south. What's the worst that could happen if someone says "No." What's the worst that could happen if someone says "Yes." People have different opinions on religion on this site all the time. It does not always result in hostility. It only gets hostile when you tell people to "f%ck off." At the end of the day I can make this thread if I want to.

@deathstrokergeist: Meh...I was sorta religious. While I thought church was sorta boring, I still considered myself to have a strong relationship with God. I used to be able to "feel" him there. Religion has become a huge interest of mine especially after my becoming atheist. My topics on CV mimic these interests. I want to know peoples opinions. I don't see the harm in it. Why do you?

I do believe in God/gods/creator (not sure exactly how he/she/it/they manifest or operate) and I do not worship. Even if the Christian God, specifically, is real, he isn't real as written. So without a great deal of extra information I'd continue to not worship.

I think that the Christian God isn't real, as the Bible strongly supports many things that Science and Natural Law would simply deem illogical, but if he was then yes. There are people who would cite all the horrible things that people God has suppossedly done, but at the end of the day he would be in charge, and I'd rather suck ass, and not burn in hell for all eternity, then give the middle finger and miss out on a place which could get boring, but be totally habitable.

I wouldn't want to mess with someone with that type of power and temprament, no matter my moral convictions.......

In all fairness, I think the thread may be baiting, but it still opens up the chance for logical disscussions. People don't usually flame in threads like this because they are pointless, people flame because due to many people's moral convictions, they struggle to have an arguement or discussion without getting feelings involved in a Negative manner. Its quite sad really.........

You know full well how the thread title would be hostile; please, just cut the act; you made the thread hostile by starting it "If"; by shear consensus of the global population, there's no question that most people know that God is real. And as another poster said, I would not tamper with sending my soul to Hell by provoking God to anger; however, I have a personal relationship with God; He answers my prayers in one way or another; although I might not have gotten the outcome I wanted, God has always answered my prayers; I'm Holy Spirit filled, so I feel the presence of God all of the time. Also, I personally know that God exists on a very cosmic level and that's not something I'd say, knowing how hooky it sounds otherwise. I don't know if you started studying science and got an A or B than feel "enlightened", but, please, just cut the act; 70 percent of the global population are not lost in myth and too dumb to know what they're being told my the media motivated science textbooks. Anyone scientifically competent would review any conflicting information before accepting that science, as shown in basic science textbooks, is complete fact, while being blissfully unaware of the atheism twist; because you've chosen the mantle of the blissfully unaware, please don't impose it on everyone else with "Ifs".

There is a clear disticntion between Bait thread and a troll thread. Bait threads usually have the potential for some useful discussion surronding the issue in question, even if the question may be conscrewed in a way that may cause offense. The best bait thread are ones that are so subtle, no one questions the OP, but fireworks ensue nonetheless. For that reason, many of the best Bait threads are often accidental.

Let's say for instance, the Christian God was really real. Would you bow and scream "HOLY HOLY IS THE FATHER!!!" ? Would you follow the Bible and pay 10% of your income, by his request? Don't forget the consequences of Hell when you decide.

As a bonus let's exclude the Christian God per se. What type of God/Goddess would you want to worship? How would you worship him/her?
