I watch Attack on Titan it's good but too much melodramatic.

It's a good anime with some quality animation cells. But in no way it warrants the hype. I was told it was a classic like Berserk and Ninja Scroll...but I don't think so...too many 12 year olds fighting giants and some gore factor. Rather bland...I quit after watching the third episode. Mind you I haven't read the manga.

Please read the manga its more bloody/gore actually they are like 17-18 yrs old since the enlistment is around age 16

I watched it back in February. It was OK. My favorite thing about it was definitely Hanji.

Before calling overrated, do this. Name on anime that came out in that same season that even had its level of quality.

Considering the premise of the manga and the world they live in, it being melodramatic should be a given.

"Doesn't warren it's hype" is the definition of overrated. The same season is relevant. You have to understand, AoT was by frankly one of the best animes to come out in the past 2 to 3 years.

Aside from the animation AoT was/is nothing to write home about.

A lot of these things that come out nowadays do not live up to the hype...

Anyway, The Art/Animation was well done, but the story was nothing special.

Still great animation wise.

You stopped after the third episode so MOST of the huge plot revelations and character development you didn't see but nice way to form an opinion about the series when you haven't seen any of it.

To be honest, I slightly agree, but that's because they make the Titans(the regular ones, not talking about the ones that act human) seem harder to kill than they actually should be.

Brb use one person to distract, and even if they've managed to grab this person, other person slices their neck.

Brb instead of 3D gear ninja technology, invest your creativity in creating more weapons that shoot blades/projectiles, brb shoot them in the neck from afar until its obliterated

In one episode, they blinded a group that was surrounding some people, and assigned one person to each Titan in the group to slice their neck while blinded... Two of them missed... Titans... who weren't even moving. This isn't rocket science lol

If you don't like melodrama anime/manga may not be your thing.

I never understood why the Humans didn't just use what they built the 3d ninja stuff with and just make nukes either......

True. They have min-catapults that they've used to shoot blades to pin Titans down/destroy their eyes.

Build a shitton of them, give them better aim, and shoot Titans in the neck from afar.

Mikasa was also good. The rest of the characters blows besides Annie and the potato chick.

Agreed. It's a decent anime, but certainly not this masterpiece a lot of people want to make it.

You need to TM this it's almost your calling card.

The show is alright, but the characters are just your same old generic anime characters.

I understand Thesaurus will tell you that overrated and over hype is the same thing but follow the discussion more closely. Case in point read the title. I acknowledge it's a good anime...however it's too melodramatic and clearly over hyped. Whether it came out 3 or 5 years ago it's irrelevant...it's not introducing anything new or inspire. Ghost In Shell was a break out anime...Hellsing was an outstanding anime....Cowboy Bebop...Samurai Champloo whatever those anime series where totally original and created memorable characters...I don't see that with AoT. Sorry, it's not there...still that is not to say it's a bad anime. It's good! but over hyped.

think its one of the best shows I seen in a while. I put it on my facebook and friends that have no interest in comics/anime/cartoons love it. we still looking forward for episode 15 to be dubbed

OT: I think fans can go completely overboard sometimes with the praise/hype,especially those who have only seen 1 or 2 other animes(or none). It's still a solid series with great animation. So basically it's good, but far from being the best thing ever made.
