I think we're underestimating Master Roshi

Bio Warrior power levels according to movie pamphlet:

Kishime= 7,000

Misokatsun= 4,400

Ebifurya= 7,500

During the Saiyan Saga Bulma used her modified scouter to scan Master Roshi. The reading was 130. Since he doesn't train anymore we can assume this is still his current base power level.

Here we see Roshi holding his own against Dr. Kochin's warriors, proving that skill can compensate for inferior power level:

I always had hopes that Master Roshi would turn out to be a lot stronger than he let on, like the Master Splinter of DBZ. Sadly, this was never the case.

World's Strongest is one of the best DBZ movies. Actually had more skill showings compared to just giant energy blasts.

@darthaznable: Yeah, the Roshi scene felt more like Dragon Ball than DBZ.

@racob7: A lot of the earlier DBZ stuff was DB styled. It didn't get out of hand really until the Android saga. But Yamacha and Tien are comparable to Roshi in skill and they get stomped a lot.

@darthaznable: Roshi should be able to crush Yamcha.

Now you're underestimating Yamcha who for most of the series was actively training. Yamcha gets underestimated and disrespected far more than Roshi.

DBZ characters always get underestimated.

I never knew the terms "underestimate" and "Dragon Ball" could be used in the same sentence.

There was a time when skill did translate to that, but in Z later on, if you're stronger that's it. You won't even feel weaker characters punches anymore. They stand there and let the weaker characters punch them directly in the head, kick them in the neck, whatever they wanted. They didn't feel it.

Aye, I preferred when it was *conceivable* for every character to win, or at least do some damage.

Yamcha isn't underestimated.. he just sucked :P.

*shrug* Pre DBZ I enjoyed him. Toriyama moved on though.

If we count filler, he's as strong as an SSJ, since he beat Olibu who was on par with Pikkon with weighted clothes. Filler was a lot nicer to Yamcha than the actual manga, unfortunately.

We are also underestimating his perv ways.
