not sure i understand. a spandex mask is premade. then all you have to do is apply say Wades eyes, or spidermans eyes and webs?

You need to make it from scratch? Well, that certainly complicates things...

still not getting you. you "need" to ? firstly, if you have the materials, spandex, that means you have access to
a premade mask, in fact near everyone does. ski supply store, or for the pattern, a non spandex mask at Wal-mart or any dollar store
for a buck. secondly, sewing a square piece of material into the shape of a mask, is the same pattern and process as making a pillowcase, which is the first teaching of sewing. adding the design is simple, granted you have the basic skill to draw it on
with permenant ink. otherwise google " superhero mask pattern ". if none of the above applies, then sorry, you cant make the mask.
my suggestion however is, between the time and money to buy the spandex needed and make the mask, you would save on both to
just buy an already made ski mask, your choice of color available, for only a few dollars, and go from there.

@ You're never going to get one that's going to replicate the shape of the superhero's head perfectly.

In spider-man toby mcguire had to wear a spider-man head shaped helmet under that mask. You're not going to be able to do it unless you manage to construct some sort of nano thin mask lol.

I am making a Deadpool mask too. and My plan was to sew some simple fabric with some strech into the shape i want (I want the dibble at the top) and use some black spandex for the eye area. Then using spirit glue (find at any costume supply store) I was going to stick the spandex to the area around my eyes. Then use face paint to get the rest of the eye area black, and finally find white-out contacts. Good luck skull! I'll post a pic when I'm done. i am also having a hard time finding a basic full head design. @  CATMANEXE    the pillowcase idea inspired an idea that might work, I'll let you know if it does. I may bight the bullet and buy a mask to steal the design. I'm a big "do it from scratch" guy.
