Absolutely ridiculous and incredibly awkward...but kind of hilarious to see him struggle and ramble about nothing.

I mean the reporter was interviewing him because four officers were arrested for terrorizing Latinos in their town (beatings and excessive force and all that fun jazz). I don't think it has anything to do with anyone being too sensitive. He should have addressed the issue instead of making a bad racist joke, since he is, after all, the MAYOR of his town.I thought the statement was funny. People are too damn sensitive.

What's the guy going to say? This situation just happened, he hasn't had time to set up a full-blown plan, reporters know this. So he either spouts the standard "This is wrong and it will change" rhetoric we can all quote while passed out, or he tries to lighten the mood. Either way, he was going to lose.
