I mean the reporter was interviewing him because four officers were arrested for terrorizing Latinos in their town (beatings and excessive force and all that fun jazz). I don't think it has anything to do with anyone being too sensitive. He should have addressed the issue instead of making a bad racist joke, since he is, after all, the MAYOR of his town.

What's the guy going to say? This situation just happened, he hasn't had time to set up a full-blown plan, reporters know this. So he either spouts the standard "This is wrong and it will change" rhetoric we can all quote while passed out, or he tries to lighten the mood. Either way, he was going to lose.

I guess if that's all you expect out of someone in charge...then alright. 

So? Nothing wrong with eating tacos.
