Don't get me wrong, I'll still listen to the 80/90's mainstream artist and also the underground but, nothing can change mind about the current state of mainstream hip hop. Every new artist from the mainstream is far worse than the one before them, with the gimmicks being same old bs i.e. I'm a gangsta, I'm hustler, I'm drug lord, I'm a pimp, etc...
The only thing keep mainstream from turning pop, is the 80/90's mainstream artists that haven't fallen off.
I give up on mainstream hip hop
I gave up back in 04-05, I'll listen to the occassional mid 80's -late 90's rap here and there. Saw P. Diddy or whatever the hell he calls himself now on TV the other day and just couldn't help but lol at him...
Yep, I've gave up on mainstream music altogether like three or four years ago. It's cool. As long as the underground is keeping things real, I'm happy.
i never saw the use of listening to rap or hip-hop or whatever its called to begin with but i will tell you what... run-dmc, the fat boys and the beastie boys will always be the gods among this so-called genre of music
