I am sick and tired of going AFK

My parents think anything can be paused and ALWAYS make me go AFK in games. Yet when they are online shopping there is suddenly a problem with them coming away from the laptop. The amount of games I've lost and friends I've had to leave mid game is uncountable... The question is what can I do or say to them to make them realise not everything can be paused (or at least I don't have to lose something in a game that took me ages to get so they don't have to get up.)

Ask them if you can get to a point where you're able to save the game/finish your conversation/etc next time.

Surely you can just explain to them, tell them that playing just for bit longer will mean you will have to spend less time replaying parts to get up to the bits you saved.

Get a summer job and build/buy your own computer.

mmmmm , buy a pc , it's not that expensive.

Sit down with them and say "ill do more around the house without you asking on the condition that you dont interrupt my gaming time", and like others have said a summer job wouldn't be a bad idea (however the job market isn't good, and you will be competing with a lot of the unemployed)

That depends on how old the kid is. If the kid is old enough that somebody will hire him he should be getting a job anyways. And silver, a PC for gaming is pretty expensive whether or not you build it.

it depends , if you like saving money , i think it's not . i saved money for about 6 months and bought my own PC.anyway it all depends on the situation.

This happens almost all the time to me. Find a solution to it, ask your parents or either play online games when they leave to work.

Back in my day we had dial-up. My parents just got sick of not being able to use the phone. Lol

It is my own computer They just make me leave everything mid game
