HULK RANTS: Why are kids not interested in Hulk?

Hulk am really upset about what Hulk am going to rant on today. So, apparently, Hulk have been noticing something that's a bit of a trend. Hulk kind of noticed that not many kids put Hulk at the top of their list of favorite superheroes. How do Hulk get this feeling? Well, sometimes Hulk will go out to maybe get a video game or something (trust Hulk, it's annoying when people crowd around you when you are trying to shop), and Hulk went to the toy aisle and Hulk saw nothing but Ultimate Spiderman stuff. Ultimate Spiderman toys, stickers, gadgetry, balloons, all that stuff. But, yet, nothing for Hulk and the Agents of SMASH! What's up with that? Why don't kids care for Hulk? Hulk am a cool guy? Hulk can be just as kid-friendly as Spiderman can. Hulk don't know why Hulk never see Hulk toys all over the place. Sure, there in a very tiny section somewhere, but they are vastly overshadowed by Ultimate Spiderman stuff. Hulk don't know why kids always flock to see Spiderman, but never Hulk. Hulk am one of the most friendly people towards kids you could meet.

What do you think? Do you think Hulk and the Agents of SMASH deserve more toys than Ultimate Spiderman? Why do you think kids don't care about Hulk as much as Spider-Man? Or do you think it's fine the way it is? Be honest.

I don't get the appeal of Hulk for kids. He's angry and smashes things. If I were a non comic book parent, I don't think I'd want my kid idolizing that character.

Because Hulk is always angry and so…he scares kids away.

You can't really blame them for thinking Spider-man is cooler. I mean c'mon...it's Spider-man we're talking about.

Compared to Spider-Man, he's boring.

Everyone can relate to Spider-Man... but Hulk's new cartoon has made it abundantly clear that Hulk is only for boys.

And don't you dare mention that She-Hulk is on that show. If I wanted my "strong female" role model to fly the plane and make dinner I wouldn't be watching a Hulk cartoon.

Spider-man is funny and Peter Parker is generally portrayed as a high schooler, a group that the toy buying age kids tend to idolize. He's also got a more diverse color scheme.

But serious, idk. They just do for some reason. Maybe Hulk's inclusion in Disney Infinity will help get him some name recognition among the younger crowds.

I remember running around with the huge hulk hands when I was little, idk what the bio is talking about.

I'm 18....and I don't find Hulk to be the slightest bit interesting.

Because Hulk is a flat character with no depth outside of Bruce Banner and his whole schtick is being angry and punching things.

I enjoy the Hulk, but the thing that is always done wrong is that Hulk is not really the character. Hulk is the power, Banner is the character. It would be the same if Spider-Man's cartoon starred his spider-sense. It's just that Hulk's power overrides who he is. I've never found Hulk to be much a "kids" character outside of his affiliation with the Avengers, where you could keep Banner as Hulk and people still love him because he doesn't need to do much except make comedic angry one-liners and break things (like in Earth's Mightiest Heroes). But considering Banner's story revolves around abuse, repressed rage and multiple personality disorder I don't see that as all that kid-friendly.

Like I said, he's best marketed to kids as part of a team.

That said I love the Hulk, but didn't really get into him till I was older (somewhere in the 18-20 range probably). If people find him one-dimensional I'd say they aren't reading the right stories, but everyone has heroes they like and ones they don't so it doesn't bother me much.

I always thought Hulk was cool growing up though then again I had a mom who was obsessed with the Lou Ferrigno Hulk when she was a kid so she made sure for me to love the Hulk too.

I think the real question should be why is Hulk so interested on kids.

I didn't get into the Hulk until I was older and angry so I guess I can understand it why kids aren't that into him.

I guess there isn't much about Hulk most kids can find appealing other than being big, strong, and powerful. Not saying there isn't any depth to his character, there most certainly is, but the underlying concepts aren't easily understood/marketed towards a younger audience. Spider-Man on the other hand is charming, funny, and a great role model for kids of all ages to idolize. Not to mention all of the things he's gone through that most kids(especially the teenagers) can relate to. He's overall just a much easier character to market :/

If its any consolation, my brother like Hulk more than Spidey.

As for my opinion, I can only guess that the reason why Hulk isn't as popular amongst kids as Spider-Man or Batman is because a lot of the Hulk's origin and character is dumbed down. Even his popular incarnation on Avengers: EMH was distilled down to Hulk getting angry, saying a one liner and smashing villains. Don't get me wrong, that was easily one of the best translations of Hulk from the comics since using the Gravage form kept him intelligent whilst also allowing him angry moments. But there's a lot more depth and tragedy to the Hulk than that. Psychological trauma, childhood abuse, accidental murder, mental psychosis, there's a lot of adult and mature themes to the Hulk that only older readers can embrace.

But for the record I love the Hulk's character and in the 1960s, a poll voted by students on their favourite Marvel characters came up with Spider-Man and Hulk as the two with the most votes. So he was popular in the past. Not to mention how well his Avengers Ruffalo incarnation was received as a more light hearted character.

Hulk is probably cool but i think kids either like heroes are like "kid friendly" or characters that looks that came from 90 comics.
