When I was 6-7 years old, it was mostly Archie, Tin Tin and Phantom back then, I started reading DC and Marvel comics about 1-2 years later.

I started reading Spider-Man and only Spider-Man back in like 2002/3 I think. It after USM really got going and was receiving so much positive buzz.

I solely read Spider-Man until 2008 when TDK made me go "Ok, I'm clearly missing out, I need to fix this". Then I dove into as much Marvel/DC stuff as my high school budget would allow (balancing it with video games!)

Didn't truly start branching out into the other parts of the industry till early last year.

I think I began consistently reading comics in the mid 2000s. So around 2005, but I was interested in the characters earlier than that.

... then I stopped around 2011.

Slightly less than 20 years.

I've been reading comics ever since I knew how to read, but do not read them at extensive rate.

Maybe on average around few hundred comics per a year.

Counting manga, european and american comics

Only started reading comics for real last year. But I have read a few comics since 2010/11 or possibly earlier, but haven't "officially" got into comics until last year.

There was a huge break during high school, but altogether I would guesstimate 4-5 years? Probably closer to 4.

#35 Posted by longbowhunter (7085 posts) - - Show Bio

Started around '88, read up til '96. Fell off and came back in '07. So I've been reading off and on for about 25 years. Over the years my son has read his fair share of Batman, Green Lantern and Archie comics. He's 13 now and loves Axe Cop and Scott Pilgrim.

I got a comic for free when I was 5 or 6 and looked at the pictures, but I didn't actually read it. I didn't actually start reading them until around late summer/early fall 2007. So almost 7 years.

#39 Posted by marvel_dc_heroes_villains (133 posts) - - Show Bio

Since 2003 with Spiderman and X-Men Comics. I was pretty much exclusively a Marvel guy until 2010 though, and I wouldn't say my true comic nerdiness flourished until 2011.
