I like Paul's writing ability. But nothing post Beatles from Paul has anywhere near the impact of John's solo work. Imagine has a legit argument to be the greatest song ever written. Instant Karma is amazing.

John's music had more depth, but Paul's were catchier and I still love listening to them. I'd probably place Paul over John these days for that fact, although that wasn't always the case. George and Ringo follow behind in that order.

@lateralus: I don't know why I'm bitchin since I put John "almost not on my list". I don't like his music, I don't agree with his views, I don't really find him to be a deep thinker & I should just leave it at that.
