I know I'm a nerd when I rant on someone for calling the imperial walkers at-at instead of AT-AT.
How do you know you're a nerd?
I'm a 32 year old currently wearing Iron Man PJs while commenting on how big a nerd I am on a comic web site at 1:10 am, also I named my daughter Lexi in honor of Lex Luthor. You may judge my nerd cred from that if you wish.
When you spend a extensive amount of time focusing on an non-mainstream or obscure activities, such as reading comics.
I think you just know lol. Heck just being into comics pretty much makes you a nerd. I am so nerdy that my friends get nerdy just by association. My roommate freaked out because she heard somebody talk about Green Lantern and she knew who they were talking about. Lol. My influence.
@charlieboy: My wife came home from work the other day and said she got weird looks from some of her co-workers because she knew what a Dalek was because of me.
When you wake up in a massive pile of comics to the Spectacular Spider-man T.V. show theme song playing as your alarm on your phone.

When you watch an entire season of Smallville in one day, Just kus.
i love smallville but that kinda crazy
When you drop close to a thousand dollars in about 3 months time so that you could buy a sh*t load of comics. Also when you spend about the last 4 months watching all four seasons of Heroes (just for the fun of it), re-watching all 7 seasons of Doctor Who to prepare for the Christmas Special (technically the last 7 seasons, since the show has been around since 1963), watching all four seasons of Torchwood (just for the fun of it), watching the latest season of Dexter, watching the Dark Knight Rises on Blu-Ray about 5 times since I bought it, watching the latest season of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, watching every WWE pay-per view and Monday Night Raw, plus watching who knows how many other movies and TV shows throughout that time frame, plus making who knows how many references to comics, movies, and TV shows that no one else but me gets, and still finding the time to sleep, hang out with friends, spend quality time with the family, train my a** off, and work! That's how you know you're a nerd!
Im into Comics, books (historical, sci-fi, fantasy, American satire), cheesey old cinema, bad tv shows, vintage videogames...and anything Bruce Campbell....Yeah, im a nerd, and dang proud of it.

Simple. I'm not a nerd.
IF you have an account on Comic Vine, have posted more than 20 times, are passionate about any of the categories on this site and are currently posting on a thread entitled, "How do you know you'r a nerd?"...if you fall into 3 out of 4 of these categories...NERD!
When you correct people relentlessly on non-mainstream topics.
How do you know when you're a nerd?
When you hear that a porn parody of a character is being done and consider it an insult to said character.
@wildvine: Topical bump? I think they have a skin cream for that.
Ha ha bad joke.
Topical bump to replace the locked one.
Well since its related to your AV, when you rant for one hour to your best friend about how Bad the M.Night's live avatar movie was, and how it sh!t's on the legacy of the animated series after she said "it wasn't a bad movie" :P
@jean199999: Then you are believing wrong.
i read comics, read in general, game, keep up with E3 and SDCC, am smart, rant, debate, dream about gaming and constantly make references. People I know call me a nerd, I personally don't see it
