How do you analyze video game characters?

For battles and such? How do you judge them? Feats are usually inconsistent;

Example: Sora was tanking bullets from Clayton in KH 1, yet he fights Captain Hook as a boss.

Example 2: In Final Fantasy VII Cloud and team tanked a supernova from Sephiroth, yet he actually needs to fight those enemies that wouldn't even come near anything Sephiroth could do.

Example 3: Batman in the Arkham games wears armor, so he at least can endure some bullets, yet in certain cutscenes he gets shot and goes down right away (32:00)

I usually take and leave depending on the "realism" (as far as video games go) of an individual game while accepting that certain things happen because plot. Games like uncharted have a pretty easy bar to measure, games like Bayonetta far less.

90% of the time, I don't use gameplay feats, unless the gameplay feats are not determined by the player (QTEs, some powerups, etc.).
