I discovered Comicvine through Google when I started wondering who would win in fights between characters... Back in the day, I would google: "Superman vs Thor," "Batman vs Wolverine," "Deathstroke vs Deadpool," etc. Comicvine kept popping up and I started reading through the threads. Users would discuss the topic pretty thoroughly at that time, and people were even providing scans as evidence to back up what they said (well, some of the time). So, I decided to join Comicvine awhile back (even though my post count doesn't show it, I don't post a lot).
How did you find out about Comicvine?
When I was looking up information about character bios and I found the comicvine Wiki and spent hours readings a lot of wikis of characters, and story arcs.
when I was bored, and was trying to find superman versus Thor who would win. actually, killermovies is the one I found first, I witnessed a 5:1( troll ) debate in which the troll was humiliated so good, I retread it many times. then I found this site, and the general knowledge is higher. so I made an account, and first began to read about the battles, then buy the comics, then, posted my first word.
I must've been browsing the internet, looking up characters, when I came across the wiki. At first I didn't know what the website was called but after a while I became more and more informed. Eventually I decided to join, not thinking it would be anything spectacular. Now I check Comic Vine every day.
Was searching for Wonder woman nude pics..
And poison ivy tentacle rape.
I accidentally clicked this website. read a couple of forums posts and i liked it. But this is nothing new to me though i was a former member of naruto forums.
It was always on the first page of results when I Googled any character.
I was just starting to get more interested in comics so I was googling for a community so I could read some discussions and learn more about it, Comic Vine was the site that looked the most promising out of the first few search results. I really liked that it had a wiki I could help with and the quests were really fun.
Back in the Whiskey Media days, I found out about this site through Anime Vice when I was wandering around. I wanted to pursue an evil persona for fun, so I joined.
Same way as the OP. Searching battle and seeing that this site always popped up, and eventually deciding to join. Looked much better than the killer movies forum.
@nukea6: this site didn't launch till Dec. 2006

No lie this post is word for word exactly how I found out about Comic vine, but I just lurked for a long time and just recently decided to join because I wanted to start making my own vs threads. The first vs I ever googled was the forbidden Goku vs Superman thing (thinking not many people had thought of such a match up since I was younger and ignorant) and oh boy was I mistaken lmao then I kept google searching random vs matches then eventually I noticed Comic vine was not only the first link just about every time it always had the best debates/debaters.

That late? I could have sworn it was around earlier than that.
@thewhiteronin: I found out about comicvine when I googled superman vs goku... lol. And then I signed up and then found out it was banned to battle these two... very disappointed I was!! So now i just research superman feats and comment on dbz related threads because that's all I really know lol
wanted to know who the strongest marvel characters were, i found this list http://www.comicvine.com/profile/kagetaicho/lists/100-most-powerful-marvel-characters/10144/
Was searching for good character pictures.
I searched "Spiderman vs Naruto" on google. The first link was a CV one.
Same
ps. Naruto curbs.
In my day, it was just about the only comic book site around that didn't look like complete garbage.
I chose it for this reason only 1.5 years ago. KMC looks like it was built on Windows 3
Same as you. Looking at who would win in a fight, then boom here I am.
This to
@wolverine08: Preeetty much how I got on this site.
@thewhiteronin: I also found CV through Google when I was searching for Astro City in order to better explain it to a friend.
I run a blog dedicated to 'The Flash' & I was looking for images of him to use to make a photoset - I decided I liked the formatting of the site and created an account.
I then discovered the magical place known as the Battle Forums and now I spend all my time there.
