My next appointment isn't til January 20 so I'd like to start now.How can I gain wight fast and healthily to have the body of an ottermode? Sometimes I'll just drink some water and eat two cups of apple sauce and I won't eat til the next day. Maybe eat more?

Water and two cups of apple sauce is a small percentage of an average daily intake (which I think is around 2000 calories). Try and get at least three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Include pasta, rice, potatoes, red meats, eggs so on and so forth. You'll notice a significant change real soon.

@thitiki:

For low weight class, or ectomorphs in general, Good diet, a lot of rest, and regular exercise works well. Start with increasing your diet, and then increase your exercise proportionately. Use it as a means of keeping in shape, don't max out or anything.

Don't run after proteins. Of course, do eat them more, and make sure you are eating enough of them, They are only useful when we also eat similar amounts of carbs (which fulfill over 60% of body's energy requirements in general)

Though cadio exercises slow down the growth rate, don't listen to anyone who says 'skip cardio, just do weights!'. Do it in moderation. They are necessary.

And being a vegetarian is no problem. I'm full vegetarian and a mesomorph (ecto-mesomorph, perhaps). Milk is a real great source of proteins too iirc.

That's the basic stuff I recall.

Keeping the diet balanced is equally important. Unless carbs supply enough energy to the body first, proteins are not used for their main function: muscle building. Instead, body breaks them down for energy supply, which isn't very good.

Run after proteins by all means, but make sure you are increasing intake of other parts of diet to balance things out, too..

Go to the Gym and work with an absurd amount of weight, then go to your house and eat everything you can. Don't do anything like jumping or runing

You will end like James Harrison.

In order to look like ottermode (bleh, really skinny) use lightweights, high reps, 13-20 rep range with a 3-4 set range if you're going to the gym. In order to get a body like that, you'll probably be fine just using bodyweight exercises. Do a 15-20 rep range with different bodyweight stuff like different types of squats, pushups, inverted shoulder presses,tricep dips, pullup/chinups, crunches, cobras, etc. There are a lot of bodyweight exercises, so I'm not going to go through them all. I'd advise you to look them up.

As far as your diet goes, the way you're eating isn't going to gain much of anything. 2 cups of applesauce and a bit of water? Average daily intake of calories is about 2200 for males to maintain a healthy look. Since you're not looking to get real jacked, you don't need to eat much more than that if at all. Generally have a balanced diet, so good carbs like sweet potatoes, brown rice, whole grain or 100% whole bread/pasta products. For proteins, things like lean beefs, chicken, pork, and eggs. Low/non fat dairy products are also good. I'd also say invest in a protein powder. I'd recommend a 100% whey protein isolate. Then of course get your veggies and fruits. Since I'm guessing you are also skinny, if you feel like you aren't getting the gains needed, you can go off your diet a little bit and dirty bulk. But get your basics down first.

The end result is the same but to a lesser degree. You train the arms more than the legs, you still have that ridiculous body shape. You need to train the whole body equally to avoid an unequal body shape.

Drink a lot of beer, get drunk, then eat a huge meal.

Do that often and you will get fat quick.
