Yup, I was about to start talking about the bigots and hate-fueled imbeciles that almost entirely comprise my immediate family and then realized that this was about ancestors.

However, on that note, my... great uncle? I think? was a member of the Plumber Gang and rode with Jesse James. So I guess there's that.

Being Nigerian, and I'm just going to go out on a limb and say your parents are of Yoruba heritage, We are probably more related than most people on the vine TBH.......

My father is Igbo, and my mother is Yoruba.

Some of my relatives come from Crete. The current poblation in Creta is 623.065. Crete is this big: 8,335.88 km². Zeus rapted Europe from Phoenicia and they went to Crete and they had three kids: Minos, Rhadamanthys and Sarpedon. The last one was banished by Minos. Minos had ten kids and Rhadamanthys had two. I have proof that part of my family lived in Crete for centuries. So The chances that Zeus is a relative of mine are pretty huge. Cronos is the father of Zeus and he represents time. We know that time can kill everything and that it is the biggest killer in the history so I win.

On my dad's side we got some cousins or something who I guess got caught selling kidnapped white people as slaves. But since that was rather recent and I don't know their names I guess that doesn't count here...

My father's side descends from The O'Donelly clan, better known as The Black O'Donellys.

Here's the full version, but the main story goes is that the O'Donelly's were like Black Hand of Middlesex, Ontario. The boys would gamble, fight, rob, rape and generally piss off the townsfolk anyway they could. Even the straight edge Patriarch of the family, Jim O'Donelly, ran his sucessful stagecoach business by undercutting the competition and stealing their horses.

Eventually, the town of Middlesex got so pissed off with O'Donelly's that one night they formed a militia, marched on over to the homestead, beat and murdered the boys, raped and murdered the girls, and then burnt the entire farm to the ground. The only O'Donelly's that lived were Jim and the few sons who had left Ontario.

The OPP arrested the Militia, but no one ever went jail over it. The first trial ended with a hung jury, and the second trial was called off because it nearly started a religious riot. Jim died in prison over an unrelated crime he didn't actually commit, while the rest of the family never came back to Ontario.
