Help with Sound delay?

I'm watching a movie on my laptop and the sound is like 1 second late. How do I fix this?

@the_tree: with the editing software how would I sync up the sound?

@xxedward_kenwayxx: If you use vlc, you can just add/subtract a few seconds.. use tools > Track synchronization.

(Syncing is temporary, but effective. It doesn't change anything in the file, just player settings. You can use it anytime without a problem)

This is neither the time nor the place for that joke. When used correctly, however, it is pretty dang funny.

Oh geez, mister. I didn't know you dictated when jokes are meant to be told. I hope I can make it up to you some day. You better run off now, there might be other out of place jokes being told around the interwebs.
