I am currently sitting in Math working on a review sheet for a test tomorrow, but I have run into a problem, I forgot the equation for probability...we have a sub today and she hasn't been much help thus far and neither has google.

Probably should go to a math website for the best answers.

@artyom: if the question 'or' use addition e.g there are 30 balls in a box, 21 red and 9 yellow find the probability he picked a red ball or yellow ball, p(R plus Y).if the question is 'and' use multiplication e.g find the probability he picked both colors, p(R multiplied by Y).

And which grade is this probability varies by grade.

@gizmorino: I figured it out. It was if I had a circle inside a square with a side length of ten which would be an Area of 100 and the circle has a radius of 5...3.14(5)^2=78.5 so the probability of something being inside the circle is 78.5/100 as far as I know, I am not sure if those simplify.

All the calculations and stuff are easy I just forgot how to figure it out, but now I know...and this is 12th grade, but it is an elective Math class that I took as a filler.

Type in the exact problem into Google and see if anybody else has posted a solution.

The Vine is all geeky, not for academics. I'm afraid asking anyone here for help is a waste of time.
