Help with a religion assignment...

Yo, so I have an assignment this term regarding stem cell research and the views of religious people on the subject.

I did a similar thing last year where I asked people this year if they'd be interested in taking the survey, so I have another one now.

I'm mostly looking for the Catholic and Atheist perspective, but honestly, any religion would be excellent. The questions won't be invasive and you don't have to give out anything like a name or age or the like, just an opinion on the morality of stem cell research, your thoughts of when life begins etc.

Stem cell research saves lives and it does no harm to any sentient being.

Life began almost 4 billion years ago and it never stopped existing since then, it just changes and multiplies.

The way I see it, as long as abortion is legal then stem cell research should be too.

I'm Christian but a modern one, so maybe you'll want my opinion.

Does all stem cell research require the destruction of embryonic stem cells? Maybe if it doesn't use those types of stem cells I'm cool with it.

They can get stem cells from amniotic fluid & placenta's without killing babies, if thats what you mean
