Happened to me a lot of times
Watchmen made me get The Times They Are A-Changin '
Wanted for The Little Things
and some for games, too like Mirror's Edge & Portal for Still Alive (same title, different songs, both awesome)

That happens to me all the time, so here are a few:
Lost Boys: Cry Little Sister -  Gerard McMann
Blade Trinity: Fatal - RZA
Charlie's Angels Full Throtle: Danger! High Voltage - Electric Six
Drive Me Crazy: Stranded - Plumb
FanboysFuego - Menudo
& Although I already had most of the songs on my computer I bought the Watchmen OST, because I wanted the rest of the songs.
Also, I download pretty much every song I hear on Chuck, The Vampire DiariesSupernatural, but since those are TV shows they don't count.

This happens lots of times to me.
The first that comes to mind is when Clerks 2 played '1979' by Smashing Pumpkins.
Right when I heard that song I went online and searched for it.

Most of my music collection I first heard as part of a cinematic soundtrack/score. Generally, if I like the movie, the music makes me think of it.

Daredevil overall got my into Evanescence.

Do movie-specific songs count? Because I automatically go after any movie soundtrack with Latin lyrics (example: Navras from the Matrix).
