Being aired 8 times a day longer than any other show and the flagship character of the channel for over a decade, has Nickelodeon pretty much become the Spongebob channel?
Has Nickelodeon become the SpongeBob channel?
At least we've got Legend of Korra right?
So true! =D SpongeBob and Korra are the only two Nick shows I watch. xD
To play the devil's advocate, if the horse is dead it can no longer feel. Therefore, beating it doesn't really hurt anything does it?

Beating a dead horse means that something is unnecessary and redundant, like a lot of thread on comic vine. Their a tons and tons of threads where people just complain about something silly like spongebob being aired too many times in a day.

I know what it means, and I agree. I was just making a comparison. Once again, just playing the devil's advocate.
I never would have watched SpongeBob as a kid if I knew what it would become.
It should have ended with the movie, like they originally planned.

Oh, my bad.

Exactly. After the movie good episodes were hard to come by....For every decent one you have several ones the straight up suck c**k.

Just give him his f****** license already and end the show. There's nothing else to do.
I was just going to say that but it seems you beat me to the punch! I'd rather have 8 hours of SpongeBob which is an original nickelodeon idea, than monsters vs. aliens, penguins of Madagascar, Rabbids, etc. Also, Nickelodeon's live action shows have become very....out there.

Well which Tv channel do you prefer Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network
@dctv3363: I totally agree. It's almost painful to watch current Spongebob.
It's totally unfunny, it's gross, and the premise of the very episodes are horrible.
What about the Dreamwork Channel?
True. At least the Kung fu panda show is good though.
It's funny you mention that. today I was watching Looney tunes and I realized cartoon network has better quality animated shows but really crappy live action shows(I DID enjoy out of jimmy's head though) and I think that nickelodeon is just copying a lot now. no new original shows(live action shows don't count since they barely last a season, excluding the drake and josh, icarly, victorious universe).
Are they still showing TMNT on Nick? I watch all my shows online, so i don't know, but Tmnt and Legend of Korra are the only shows i watch from the channel now. The new Spongebob episodes are so brutal.
@black_claw: So true. That show is epic.
Nick is still alive? I thought it died once Hey Arnold Rocket Power all those good shows stopped. But being serious the only reason to tune into Nick is to watch the Avatar.
no it DID die, just it's still running as "nick". and Avatar ended years ago. they show Korra which is a spin-off.
@thecheesestabber: Nada.
@xlr87t3: Look it up
Yep, that's what Nickelodeon has become, the "Spongebob Squarepants" Network. To be honest, I actually stopped watching Nickelodeon daily when shows like "Hey Arnold!" and "Angry Beavers" were cancelled and only tuned in whenever "Avatar: the Last Airbender" and "Danny Phantom" came on. Although, I still watch Legend of Korra and Kung Fu Panda whenever I get the chance to.
Yeah, the movie was a great conclusion to the series.. or at least it would've been. Because of that the show has since declined in quality and gets over-aired. Unfortunately for Nick, Spongebob is the bread and butter of the channel and as of now is all Nick has going for itself against the likes of CN's Adventure Time, Regular Show, etc. In Nick's eyes, if they cancel Spongebob then the channel will die(even though they've made more than enough episodes to suffice IMO). So yeah, it has become the Spongebob channel.
Your Next...
Well thanks for the nightmares
Spongebob in its Prime was awesome.
1999 to 2004 right? Definitely.

Pretty much.
The new writers have messed up the characters personalities and the new episodes.
Spongebob's as equally as dumb as Patrick.
Patrick is dumb but not in the funny manner that he should be.
Sandy barely shows up now.
Plankton shows up too often.
Squidward is too aggressive towards Spongebob.
Mr. Krabs no longer has decent humor about him.
and lastly, the neighborhood fish are complete pricks towards the characters.
As for the new episodes, they either build up only to be left with an unnecessary cliffhanger, or they're just one big boring timekiller with a stupid ending. I recall seeing one episode when Sandy asks Spongebob to watch over her treedome, and it was just that. Then he ends up destroying the place only for Sandy to come back with a gun to repair everything. That alone is proof at how unoriginal the new episodes are.
@xlr87t3: My next what? o:
The new episodes really do stink because it seems like
1.) Everybody hates SpongeBob
2.) way to much stories with Mrs. Puff. it really is annoying how she always gets mad at spongebob for every little thing
3.) Mr. Krabs' cheapskate ways are just pathetic now
4.) plankton STILL wants the krabby formula
5.) nothing ever happens. no refrences to other episodes...nothing
I'd say ever since 09' or whenever they started making TV specials like truth or square etc. it's been downhill

I have to complain about Sponge Bob here because when I do it at home my 4 year old looks at me like I'm insane. :P
@comedy_brosusa: At least the original writers are coming back for the second movie. Actually, the show went downhill after the first movie came out since that was originally going to be the finale of the show. But unfortunately, Nickelodeon just wanted more and the original writers decided to jump ship. Thus, leading to the shows crappy quality today.
@comedy_brosusa: I've honestly never got the appeal, Sponge Bob and Patrick seem like they belong in some kind of group home, Mr. Krabs is just a greedy thief that has no justification for Sponge Bob's admiration and everyone else on the show just kind of sucks.
