My parents house has hard wood floors in the main great room and that is where the fireplace we usually use is. We now have a fair amount of wood stock piled and it might be nice to have a fire some nights but my parents are concerned about the hard wood floors. Does anyone know anything about heat dispersion and what the probabilities that the floor could get damaged or warped from head from the fire. Wood would get brought in, so its not like any fire wood would be resting on the new floors.
