They're completely different monsters..............like if you like rock music and guitars and what not then yeah Guns N Roses are great but Nirvana aren't "rock music and guitars" really. Some people lump them in with rock music but their really nothing like Guns N Roses.
There's certainly more sincerity to Nirvana's music but it's not quite as approachable or even technical as Guns N Roses. I like Nirvana a lot but they play more to my tastes and do not like Guns N Roses at all because it's far removed from what I generally like.
@X35....I agree...In a lot ways Nirvana are the "anti-GNR"...Everything that GNR are, Nirvana is the opposite....GNR relished in the rockstar lifestyle, while Cobain and co are anti-rockstars....both badass bands in their own respective ways
Guns n Roses. Nirvana turns me off with Cobain being all 'anti-famous' and 'anti-rockstar'. Come on man. You should have grew up instead of killing yourself.
I love GnR but Nirvana was better overall.I also have to say the The foos are also pretty dam badass and to think that Ghrol had all that going while he was with Nirvana.I would give an arm and a leg for his Demo album even just a copy of it
Guns n roses were more talented. on every level Guns n roses were better. but Nirvana took grunge mainstream, so i think they got more credit for that. people liekdd that style of music more from the 90's i like nirvana, but i can never look someone in the face and say nirvana was better than guns n roses..i mean, they just had a cool style and had cool songs. but face it.. slash alone went on to become one of the most known and talented guitarist EVER. i mean sure dave grohl went on to have a grammy winning band but he went on to have a different style and didnt really have the flame nirvana had. but when you look at it as a whole...guns n roses was the more dominant band.
Kurts voice wasnt really that special and his band was mediocore drummming and repitive chords. it fit the grunge style but thats about it.
I don't like Nirvana at all... One of the most overrated bands IMO. And yeah Kurt is an emo. Plain and simple. So I'm picking GNR.. Even though I think they too are overrated. Yes, even before it got all Axl-only.
Both the iconic bands have great songs to their names. Both are great bands. But if I had to choose one over the other, it would always be Guns N' Roses.
nirvana is just the most overrated band in history, the have like 3 or 4 ok songs and the rest are just covers, nowadays gnr songs are much more listened than nirvana's, go to youtube if you don´t believe me.
Nirvana are pretty good. GnR is one of my favorite bands, November Rain is one of the only songs that really make me feel something. I'm actually listening to GnR right now.
