Wildstorm female with swords? Probably Zealot. Might have mentioned her because of her thousands of years using a blade and superhuman stats. Or maybe Charis for the same reason but with better swords. Don't know about greatest of "all time" but they spring to mind. Not sure why I said either of them could take a god (don't remember anything about Fandral but I assume being a god would give him just as much experience or more as either of these), must have been something about him specifically or maybe something else.

I think because she was just as experienced, just as strong and faster? I think it would have to be someone who has trained for thousands of years and possesses superhuman attributes.
How is he going to outfight a guy who has superhuman speed and strength, lived for thousands of years and fought in possibly a million different sword fights?

If he didn't have god-like powers and had about the same amount of experience then I can see why I chose one of them. And yeah, the "greatest of all time" would probably have to have loads of experience and superhuman attributes (though that superhuman part might lead into other questions).

Vandal Savage is packing about 52,000 years and both of the Kherubim females I mentioned have multiple thousands of years experience since coming to Earth and were already incredibly skilled for an unknown length of time even before that.

The strongest mortal swordsmen i can think of, that can even beat Methos is Drizzt Du'Urdan. He is just simply specular. As for the superhuman part...i would say Killer Bee from Naruto. lol forget Zorro, this guy wields six or seven swords at the same time. If that isn't skills then i don't know what is.
in reality it was Musashi Miyamoto the author of the Book of Five Rings....dude killed 33 people at once on a bridge while he was posioned...he died that day but not from a sword or weapon for that matter...
anyway i would say Sephiroth, Afro Samurai or Jubei from Jubei-Chan...
