As a rival to the worst, how about the best?
What's the best movie you've paid to see in the cinema? How about the best you own on DVD?

Best I paid to see was Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind simply because it was the most surprising. Jim Carey and I was expecting it to be pointless and annoying but I knew nothing about it. A friend dragged me to see it and I've never been so pleasantly surprised by anything. It's a great film.
Best I own, that's gotta be the Labyrinth. An old film I know but it's got some of the best fantasy elements of any film I've ever watched.
Best one I've payed to see is probably Akira. Fantastic animation, still doesn't look dated and the story holds up pretty well even after being massively condensed.
Best one I own on DVD is Once Upon a Time in the West, brilliant film, fantastic cast and unbelievable use of sound throughout.
I cant pick just one, I love 300,, but who wouldnt. So I have a top 5 alltime and there's no order, anyone of these could be one.
1.300
2.Sin City
3.Bambi (you loved at one time)
4.Spaceballs
5.Superman I,II

I agree, I really like that movie. The director is friggin' awesome, I love his style.
At the top of my head.
Amelie - such a feel-good film and it was very warming. It's a foreign film, in French.
Shawshank Redemption - not really my cup of tea, but it was such a nice ending.
Last Days - the plot is based on Kurt Cobain's last day, but it is in no way associated with him.

Dr. Strangelove Is one of my favorites.
Full metal Jacket is awesome.
The godfather of course.
Citizen Kane is just amazing.
The best thing I've seen in the theater has to be Grégoire Moulin contre l'humanité it is hillarious.
Walkingstone says:
"LOL! I knew we'd get some Monty Python in here at some point. "He's not the Messiah...""
Nope, not that movie. Hate that movie, sorry.
"Now go away, or I will taunt you a second time."
Ok, changing my vote slightly, or adding to it. I just rewatched the Romeo + Juliet from 1996. It has to be one of the greatest films of all time. I love the adaption
Yeah but in general, if you ever see it at the theatre, Romeo is played by the inexperienced actor, the weak link, whereas Juliet tends to be stronger and the supporting cast like Benvolio and Mercutio are all very strong actors to play the parts they need to. After all, Mercutio has the best line of the entire play: "A CURSE ON BOTH YOUR HOUSES!!!"
Im coutning on Spider-Man 3 to be a killer movie this year. At least the best comic movie so far, at least on par with Batman Begins. Batman Begins was awesome!
1
In the theater-Akeelah and the Bee.
DVD-Rocky.
Oh, shut up, I'm only allowed to watch PG and they're good movies.
Blades of Glory was awesome though. Will Ferrell and Jack Black are my favorite actors-Kicking and Screaming, School of Rock, Talladega Nights, all awesome.
I'm starting over, after seeing the lack of love some of the greats arent getting.
1.Scarface
2.Boyz'n da Hood
4.Crash
5.Transformers the movie (original)
like Gambler say
300
Braveheart
Gangs of New York
Slither
House of 1000 corpses
As for Disney movies MAY THEY ALL BURN IN HELL!

Unforgiven
The Shining
Children of Men
Way of the Gun
Drunken Master
The remake of The Wolf-Man. I love the original but I was seriously impressed by the remake, instead of (as so many remakes of classic horror movies do) just amping up the violence and intensity they still kept it with a solid character and story driven plot.
Hero, with Jet Li
The Good The Bad and The Weird. Even if you are not a fan of foreign films I recommend this flick it is simply amazing, stunts, acting, plot, action, gun fights, bad ass characters. Trust me when I say the this Korean take on a western is splendid.
