Gays think they deserve special rights. They are normal people with a different sexual orentation, not special humans. It's also not "Marriage" when 2 homosexuals get together, it's simply s caring relationship. Know what? I respect that. But I am not gay. So I have a tolerance of Homosexuals, just as long as one doesn't hit on me.
I read your other posts and kind of under what you're trying to get across. However, you generalising that all "Gays think they deserve special rights" is flat out ignorant, and frankly, offensive. Not only are majority of the posters in this thread STRAIGHT, but I don't know a single gay person that thinks they deserve these mystical "special rights" that you're entailing too. In case you did not notice, gay people are not treated to the same degree in respect and equality in our modern society, a blatant example shown by the lack of wide spread marriage equality.
This thread is not asking for opinions for that matter - nor "special rights." It's a simple construct to celebrate the fact that being gay is fine, and people don't mind. It's a statement to gay people that there are people who respect them, and possibly gives them a chance to talk to others that have been through similar experiences.
Thank you for not disliking homosexuals - however, there is something I need to point out. The fact that "it's not marriage when 2 homosexuals get together, it's simply a caring relationship." Well, for one, that applies to straight couples too. It's marriage when they actually get married. Also, in an ideal world where gay marriage was legalised, would it not be marriage? Oh well, there's a thread for that:
Gay Marriage Thread 2: Now with 50% More Gay
Again, somewhat of an irrelevant statement, saying you don't appreciate gays hitting on you. Have you hit on a lesbian unknowingly? Like - I doubt they're trying to offend you, probably just trying to meet a nice guy. I would see it as a compliment. Just some advice for these future dilemmas :P
Have a lovely day, thanks for being pro-gay and showing respect!
