Which is the better language and more importanly why? Important note; try to look beyond your native language and only listen to the sounds of the languages below. If you would like to represent your own language please do, I do not know all languages out there and decided on putting three big "different" languages against eachother. May the battle BEGIN!
French vs Swedish vs English?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
English is actually ridiculously complicated, and doesn't even sound that nice.
French rolls off your tongue and, in my personal opinion, really distinguishes one person's voice from another's.
Don't know about Swedish.
I'm going with Francais.

What is your problem? If you got nothing to add to the topic but insults then you are the only troll here.
I have to say the most developed language is english, it has thousands of words and expressions many languages do not have. That is why so many languages are taking words from the english language. It however sounds quite bad. Swedish is very similar to the english sound (I think). However swedish has a few really nice grammatic counstructs that make it a very nice one. Like for example put -are on a verb and that verb turns into a proffesion. Like
Krig - are = Warrior
Swedish still has that somewhat harsh sound to it though, french is quite sweet a language and flows quite well. Personally though I think it doesn't work so well for song. But it's probably the best speaking language. I have to say french (I'm btw not from france.)

My vote goes to:
That is probably what english sounds like for those who does not speak it. I think it sounds too harsh, btw finnish is also a very beautiful language. Finnish is btw the language that inspired Tolkien to create the elvish language in lord of the rings. I have to say it's probably the most beautiful speaking language.
I doubt it, English, Finnish ect are all Germanic languages Gaelic is a Celtic language it's not related at all.@spiderbat87 said:

That actually sounds interesting from a purely non-trolling perspective. Interesting in a face-palm sort of way.@RainEffect said:

Wait for it, he'll eventually start detailing various reasons why the english language is causing the downfall of racially superior civilizations.
@tron_bonne: That sounds like a mixture between german and arabic, personally they are the most ugly languages. Arabic has that Arrrrshmed sound and german is like a weird mix of nordic language/Eastern European sounding language. It's just ugly in my opinion, it's the best of the worst. Never heard about klingon until now I can't say I'm a fan.

It may be a celtic language, but it sounds very much like english.
detailing various reasons why the english language is causing the downfall of racially superior civilizations.
I wouldn't say that the english language destroys other languages, there are however some "movements" that are destroying the english language. I'm not going to mention them since by doing so I might offend.
@spiderbat87: That video what language is it, it sounds quite beautiful!
How is this remotely like English?@tron_bonne: That sounds like a mixture between german and arabic, personally they are the most ugly languages. Gaelic: Tha mi toilichte ur coinneachadh
English: Pleased to meet you
Gaelic: An urrainn dhut bruidhinn nàs maille?
English: Could you speak more slowly?
Gaelic: Dè 'phrìs tha seo?
English: How much is this?
Thats Gaelic again@spiderbat87: That video what language is it, it sounds quite beautiful!
@spiderbat87: That newsreader sounded english, but maybe that is because it said scottish gaelic. It could be the scottish accent, but it really did sound english. When they sang in gaelic it sounded different though, Notice the similarities between finnish singing and gaelic singing. Btw I will have to say finnish is the most beautiful. I'm going to go with swedish among the three big ones in the op. Swedish has nice singing just listen to abba :)
Finnish and Swedish are the most beautiful in my opinion.
French is too girly and I can't take any guy seriously who speaks it fluently.
Too girly probably means more beautiful?
That makes no sense, Gaelic is a Scottish langue, how can it sound different?@spiderbat87: That newsreader sounded english, but maybe that is because it said scottish gaelic. @HeManWomanHater: I chose spanish over french in high school, I however grew to dislike it because of the stupid videos they showed in our class. Please show me beautiful spanish music. I would like to be able to look at the spanish language the same way as I look at swedish and Finnish.
@spiderbat87: Well if it's a scottish language then it will sound similar to english? I was right from the start then.
What kind of logic is that? Gaelic is a Scottish language, Celtic in origin, that out dates English which is Germanic Anglo-Saxon by hundreds of years. Thats like saying Mexican Spanish sounds like English because its next to America.@spiderbat87: Well if it's a scottish language then it will sound similar to english? I was right from the start then.
@Hermoor:Hey quick question I am hoping your more then able to answer...Have you read the battle forum rules, or did you think it was a good idea to ignore the thread that has a title Battle forum rules ALL USERS MUST READ?

You where wrong Galelic sounds nothing like english what so ever.

I flagged this thread earlier, and I'm very sorry about it. So to answer this thread, I would have to prefer English above the other two, because it's what we've been using and speaking it for a very long time, and it's one of the most important languages to learn, especially immigrants, if you think about it, who come to places like Australia, UK, and America to live and study, and do ESL.

so, what's the point in this thread? In fact, what's the point in any of Hermoor's threads? Everybody seems to be writing in English on this site, so i'll guess i'll go with that. How interesting zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Eng > Swe > Fre IMO! Sweden is an awesome country and their language is neat too, but english simply sounds great! French is terrible.
Listen to this:
And compare to english:
I really like the video above, it's a good way for english people to see what their language sounds like to non english speaking people.

I'd say English, a big reason is because it is so used all over the world.
The only reason it's all over the world is because of english imperialism. Would you say the same about Arabic if they conquered the world?@The_Last_Son_of_Czarnia said:
This is completely subjective.
I don't think it is, it's possible to look at things objectivally. Even when it comes to beauty.@Final Arrow said: @OptimusPalm said:

If you can't figure out what the point of this thread you are...nvm I don't want to have another closed thread because of baiting from you and others. The point of this thread is sharing your tastes in language and music. I never knew before I made this thread that gaelic was so beautiful, thanks for opening my eyes to something new.

The only troll here is you.
@Hermoor: Just for future refrence this thread would be better suited in off topic, prehaps ask a mod to move it before it gets locked, it really has no place in the battle forums which in my own way I said to you, may it be flippant the point still stands, give the battle forum rules a read.
@Hermoor: I don't know if I would say the same about Arabic, because I don't know a word of that language, and I probably never will know a word of that entire language. English is just so complex and complicated and I like that about English. French sounds nice, but I just think English encompasses a great deal more then a lot of other languages.
Hermoor, my work PC is old and i cant directly reply to you. I come on this site to read and learn about comic related things. So that is why i dont see the point of this thread, or the point of your other thread where you were hammering the 'obese American culture'. I'm not American, but i found that offensive. This thread isnt offensive but has no place on the battle forums, does it?
@Hermoor said:
@Final Arrow: Alright move it to off topic then please. I believe this thread still has a purpose and should remain open.
I agree, that it is a good thread and should remain open, the issue is that it was in the battle forums and of course us battle forum users being the welcoming bunch that we are often tend to stamp are feet and throw remarks around rather then point things out. Sadly I am no longer a mod due to our fist baby being due soon and my work load increasing ten folds at my job. But one of the other mods should be more then happy to help, try pming Aztek the Lost.
