Does anybody here know which character was the first one to ever use an energy based attack? By energy based attack I mean stuff like Dragon Ball's Kamehameha Wave, Street Fighter's Hadouken, Yusuke's Spirit Gun, Naruto's Rasengan, or even a Cero from Bleach. Who was the first character to use an attack similar to those?

Any ideas?

That depends. You could say Superman with his heat vision or Captain Marvel with his lightning bolt. But I don't think either one used it as an attack until MUCH later. My guess would be any villain with a ray gun.

@legacy6364: Well, seeing Zeus was created by the Ancient Greeks, it's him alright.

If Thunderbolts count, then Zeus.

If not...probably Superman and his Heat Vision or anybody that used a ray gun.

What energy based attack did the Ancient Egyptians scribe about Anubis using exactly?

Zeus and his thunderbolts.

Thor and many other Norse mythology figures.

In comics, Superman was first in DC, and either Iron Man (repulsors) or Thor would be first.

I am pretty sure that the Greek Gods are older than the Norse Gods... Not absolutely sure however.

@dark_hammer:

You are correct sir, hence why I put Zeus above them.

@rd189:

Comics wise...

Superman (1938) and Human Torch *Android* (1939)
