Gus 3rd round tko by beating up rumble and avoiding his desperate take down attempts

decision win by gegard. boring fight with hendo running after gegard with that right hand and gegard jaabbing the **** out of hendo

decision win by phil davis. wrestlefest with bader doing nothing but defend a few sub attempts

@those_eyes: Agree with pretty much everything, except I think Gegard may be able to submit Dan Henderson.

I put money on Rumble Johnson winning a split decision.

how much you put on? Rumble has a chance but i think gus us more fluid in the stand up which will ultimately win him the fight if he keeps it standing.

i think johnson is gonna wreck.

@those_eyes: I don't want to say how much but I'm confident Rumble is winning this fight. Rumble has great footwork, will threaten with takedown, and his power will hurt Gustafson.

lol not gonna happen. I feel jones is too well rounded for Rumble. ABC logic wont work here. Yes rumble beat a guy easier than Jones did but i just dont see rumble ko'ing jones and i definitely dont see rumble beating jones on the ground or in the clinch.

@those_eyes: ABC logic never works in MMA. I still think Jones will probably win, but Rumble could knock him out.

I would love to see that. But i would prefer of comier is the one to give jones that loss.

@those_eyes: I was rooting for Cormier. Unless he makes big changes, I don't see him beating Jones though. He fought well in the second round, but he seemed really gassed in the championship rounds.

@those_eyes: I think he'll probably get the shot. Cormier's fight with Jones wasn't bad, but I don't think it was exciting enough for a rematch quite yet.

How do you feel about jones incident testing positive for drugs? lol

The referee in the Rumble/ Gus fight should get fired. Gus will lose years off of his career because the ref didn't stop it early enough. Way too many unanswered shots to justify not stopping it, for Gus's safety.

@those_eyes: I've never liked Jones very much, this just makes me like him a little less.

At first I thought it was good that the ref gave Gus a chance to stand up, but after watching it again, that fight was over, even if Gus did stand up he wouldn't have been able to defend himself.

Cant blame the reff too much because i gurantee you all the refs got their butts chewed on early stoppage's lately.

Their have been so many complaints with early stoppages, that reff probably would had an angry mob come after him if he stopped that fight any earlier. Cant really say if Gus took any permanent damage from those blows but maybe he did.

Btw im not saying reffs should let the fight go on too long but i feel Gus was given a chance to recover in a decent time frame and did take alot of blows but i wouldnt say it took years off of his career imo.

@those_eyes: Yeah the ref was in a tough spot. The stoppage was decent, but I think he could have called it a little earlier.

it would be a major upset but i just dont see jones losing.
