I've just reached 1500 posts (I know it's not much to some but I'm pretty happy) so I thought this wouldn't be a bad time to make an "ask me" thread, they might be a little overdone but I'm sure there must be something about me that makes you want to ask me questions rather than some other person. Or not. Still, it's worth a go.
Feed My Ego...Ask Me Stuff
What is the origin of your username?
Was about to ask that
@mad_titan: Great minds think alike :)
@thetruebarryallen: Sure they do
@mad_titan: @thetruebarryallen: When I was younger, my nan often got me The Dandy (you know, Desperate Dan and Banana Man?) comics to read. After she passed away, I stopped reading them as much but the nostalgia's still there so I thought TheDandyMan would be a good thing to call myself.
@616vulture: My Ego is 4165 miles high according to the Marvel Database.
@sophia89: FAV - F*ck a Viner
@sophia89: Allow me to show you the good ol' naked man rush
@sophia89: Thanks, and take this to keep you busy.
@sophia89: Thanks, and take this to keep you busy.
Lol. Rekt?
@sophia89: Favourite story arc might be Batman: Under the Red Hood, it had a great mix of action and emotion.
Favourite movie might be The Dark Knight but I'm planning on seeing more of the classics this year, I really do need to expand my watch-list.
Favourite song is most difficult, I like a whole range of stuff so I can't really say I have one favourite.
And I'd put my money on the tiger.
@notatreeabush: They don't call me the Virgin Mary for nothing.
@perethorn: I would say that love is the secret of a good moustache.
@frisky4: If losing control of my body and being unaware of stimuli counts as death then I die a lot, normally at night time.
How old are you?
What got you into comics?
Were are you from?
Who's your favourite fictional character?
@kingvenus: That's a tricky one, I'm more into other genres (I'm not one of those snobs who be like "All modern music is rubbish" or whatever though) but I guess I'll go with Taylor Swift.
@captain_batman_ftw: I'm fifteen (pretty young compared to the rest of the site I guess)
I've always been into superheroes but I brought my first reading material, a bunch of early Spiderman comics collected in a trade paperback, after browsing this site for a while and then moved onto DC as well after watching the Justice League cartoon.
I live in a small-ish town in England called Crawley.
My favourite fictional character? Can I just go with the easy option and say Batman?
I might have been a bit hasty in making an ask me thread at 1500 posts but now I'm at 3000 POSTS BABY. Yeah, it's still not much but...
I'm gonna say cereal but only if it's without milk. I'd rather just have a bacon bagel for breakfast if I could.
Cats, dogs are a bit too active for me.
I'll always leave room for pudding, I've got a very sweet tooth. And by pudding, I don't mean fruit, it's gotta be cake or ice cream or something like that.
I think sunsets are nicer to experience, especially on warm summer evening. Plus, I don't have to wake up early to see sunsets.
@thedandyman: I'm stealing that gif it's too cool!! :O
Nice answers.
Okay so.....
What do you think happens when you die?
If you had to lose your arms or your legs, which would you choose?
Do you often remember your dreams?
@bumpyboo: IKR, I've been meaning to use that gif for a while.
I used to be a Christian but I'm not part of any major religions at the moment. It's agnosticism, I ain't gotta explain shit :) I make the assumption that nothing happens when we die but I'm open to ideas if they can be backed up with good evidence.
Probably arms, I spend a lot of my time sitting at a keyboard anyway so my legs aren't as handy as my arms.
I used to remember them much more clearly when I was younger but not so much any more.
@thedandyman: beach or snow?
@masterkungfu: Right now, I could do with some snow seeing as it's getting pretty hot now it's the summer.
@thedandyman: Since you're such a headbanger, who is your favourite Metal band?
@black_wreath: It might be a bit of a boring answer but probably Slipknot. I hear that they might have a bit of a reputation as being for 13 year olds who like to think they're alternative, and there's probably some truth behind that, but for me that doesn't take away from the fact that they make enjoyable music. What about you?
@khael: I think I had just turned 14 and me and my girlfriend went for a Chinese buffet. The conversation was meh but the food was delicious.
@thedandyman: Sentimentally, probably Slayer or Marduk.
@black_wreath: XD I thought you might not be keen on Slipknot, they're just too edgy for you :). I like thrash so Slayer are cool but I haven't ventured far into black metal so I haven't come across Marduk that much.
@thedandyman: are you batman?
@batman3000: If people want to believe that I'm the Batman, I'm not going to stop them.
@black_wreath: XD I thought you might not be keen on Slipknot, they're just too edgy for you :). I like thrash so Slayer are cool but I haven't ventured far into black metal so I haven't come across Marduk that much.
I've dissed them so long it's like instinctual but I choose to live my life positively so here's some positive things I can say about SlipKnoT - see I even spelled in that stupid Nu Metal style ;) :
- (sic), People = Sh*t, Skin Ticket and The Virus of Life are all songs I can appreciate.
- The video to Spit It Out is brilliant, being that The Shining is my fav film.
- In a largely derivative genre they genuinely seemed unique.
- The early albums' teen angst is hilarious. XD
- 9 members, two banging on garbage cans, wearing masks, beating each other up on stage - these guys were the early 2000s equivalent of Spinal Tap! XD
@thedandyman: A taste of Marduk, this is also probably the song I would play for someone if they wanted to know what Black Metal is all about. \m/

Good thing I like Spinal Tap, eh.
@ccraft: I liked Lord of War but I've seen that a bunch of his other films that I haven't yet watched like Dallas Buyers Club got some good reviews, maybe I should give them a try...
@trickyman86: I had to look up what that means so no.
@dboyrules2011: There's a quote that says the more knowledge you have, the less the ego you have. I'd like to say I've got a reasonably small ego but then I feel like I'd be overrating my knowledge which would be a bit egoistical.
