Reason- he finally gets over his hatred because of the death of his clan and he grows up and wants to do what a real Kage should which is making sure the tailed beast can no longer be used as a weapon and uniting the five villages even if by force. He is willing to do this because he wants to make his world a better place no matter the cost and he is willing to sacrifice his own happiness to do so. His method is way better than that Idealistic immature kid Naruto.
