Favorite Superhero Movies of 2014

1) Guardians of the Galaxy - 10

2) X-Men: Days of Future Past - 9.8

3) Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 9.5

(My Top three for very good reasons..)

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 9.6

I also liked Transformers Age of Extinction..not the best movie out there..but the best of the Transformers I had seen anyway..

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was a ehh.. decent film. I was going crazy in the theatres when Nick Fury died..but I was waiting for it to really take off..and it didn't really imo. There was suspense, a pretty good plot just lacked the excitement or life of it..

Guardians is my favorite, with Winter Soldier and Days of Future Past tied for second.

Well I bought MOS this year so its my favorite.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is my favorite, though I loved Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Haven't seen GotG or ASM2 yet, but I don't have high hopes for either of them.

Only been able to see the new X-men. Which I loved. From what I'v e seen and heard the new Cap looks like a wet dream. I remember the first time I saw the metal arm. I freaked. GOTG seems to be winning every one over. Al Pacino approves.

The Winter Soldier. My favorite super hero movie to date

GotG. A nearly perfect summer movie...only wish Ronan were a more interesting villain

XM:DoFP. It retconned X3 and XMO:W....so in that alone it was awesome. Also, Fassbender's Magneto should be villain of the year.

1. Winter Soldier - My favorite superhero film at the moment.

2. Amazing Spiderman 2 - I came out of the theater smiling, dont really get the hate.

3. GotG and DoFP tie for third - I know I'm in the minority but I didn't really care for either one.

I loved them all. I don't have a preference.

People give out 10's like nothing. The last movie I have a 10 was inception and that came out 4 years ago. Anyways, here's my list:

1. Guardians of the galaxy- 9.3

2. X-men days of future past- 9.2

3. Captain america 2- 8.8

Dishonorable mention:

The amazing spiderman 2- 5.3

I had really high hopes for this movie, I was satisfied with the first amazing spiderman and I thought Marc Webb would rase the stakes and I expected the script to be even smarter than the first one. The sequel is always supposed to be better than the one that came before it. This sequel was awefully terrible.

Wow! Al Pacino? That's awesome dude! When I saw GOTG, I was pleasantly surprised..The longest box-office week feat for the year..

That's cool, man. :)

As of right now, I have Fassbender's Magneto the 2nd best villain to date in a super hero movie only outdone by Ledger's Joker.

What did you like most about the Winter Soldier?

Where to start.
Pacing - some of the best I have seen in all of cinema....not just CBMs
Action sequences were top notch. The fight choreography could not be better.
Humor was dialed back a bit, but definitely still present
Overall implications of the plot to the rest of the MCU
Great characters

@guardiansofthegalaxymarvelfan: Its sense of humor, its characterization of Cap, that the entire supporting cast was great, that it had a pretty good story, and that the action was f###ing phenomenal.

@lateralus: Fassbender definitely made the movie as Magneto, and so did Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.

I still like Romijn's Mystique better.

Everything, seriously. It's my favorite movie of 2014 and easily one of my top favorite movies of all time.

But if I had to pick just one thing, just seeing my favorite character, Winter Soldier, on the big screen...it's something fans like myself dream about and rarely see actually happen. Not only that, but to see your favorite character portrayed so accurately...it's just awesome, plain freakin' awesome.

TASM2 was garbage.

How the hell are people saying it was better than GOTG?

Didn't see Guardians of the Galaxy yet. But if I could rank the other 3 then my list would look like this.

1: Winter Soldier

2: Days of Future Past

3: Amazing Spiderman.

Oh and Amazing Spiderman 2 gets a 9? Seriously?

Sometimes I feel like some of you have been paid by Marc Webb. ( it was good, but not THAT good)

The story was probably the best in the MCU so far.

The fights were amazing (particularly the Steve/Bucky ones).

It seems to have more effect on the MCU than any of the other movies.

And I finally got to see one of my favorite Marvel characters in a movie - the Winter Soldier himself.

1. TWS - It has a plot with intrigue and hard hitting action. Both elements which are missing entirely from all of the other MCU flicks.

Passable (at best):

Those movies were excellent. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was enjoyable, but it was still terrible. And I never bothered seeing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because I didn't want to give my money to it, and it looked terrible.
