Favorite MMORPG?

Um.... Runescape...?

I've played, Rift, WoW, ToR, and Wildstar.

Rift was by far my favorite. The raiding was fantastically designed.

Each had their own strengths.

Runescape's been in the decline lately, but it's the only MMORPG I've ever played, so I'll go with that.

I played every game from those choices except Aion. GW2 was fun. Rift started out fun but quickly got boring. My favorite mmo is SWTOR. wow is close second.

I've only played two: Star Wars Galaxies and SWTOR. I'm not a big MMO fan.

Lord of the Rings: Online held me for longest time.

I'm not a big MMO fan, usually, but the Elder Scrolls Online had me addicted for a long while. I hope to return to the game when/if they go free to play.

I just started playing Rift and it is a very demanding game, i can play World of Warcraft on high while on Rift i can barely play at Good.

If i would include that all the Marvel ***boys/girls would get mad and then i would have to put Marvel Heroes as a option as well and that would be to many options :P

Elder scrolls online deserves a nomination also imo.

Haven't played any in a while, but my old fave is RIFT (can't play cause it seriously messes up my PC now) It might of been WoW if:I had the PC, Time and money for it.

There is some serious 'he who shall not be named'-esque hate for ESO. I only see mentioned when people talk about games they don't like.

ESO is a disgrace to the Elder Scrolls franchise. Plot is a total ripoff of Oblivion.

@mandarinestro: I don't think its that bad of an mmo and I played elder scrolls 3 and 4 quite a bit. I'm not saying its fantastic either but just that its deserving of a nomination imo. If you disagree or think its horrible that's fine but plenty of people hate wow too but that hasn't stopped it from being hugely successful either.

@swordmasterd: I've seen a fair share of that but having played it and leveled a character up to about lvl 40 and another to like 30 I found it to be pretty good overall. Just that the gameplay is a bit repetitive and mage skills leave a bit to be desired but most of the other elements I found to be pretty well done.

Been playing WoW for years and the new expansion is incredible. The Nagrand quests have made the biggest impact on me so far, but those Laughing Skull orcs are awesome!

Now here is a respectable gentleman.

The original Guild Wars is by far my favorite. God, GW2 was trash; it's barely even a GW game.

I wish FF14 was on this list, because it's probably my second favorite MMO. If I had to choose from this list, I'd choose WoW.

Many people just don't like ESO because of it's generic storyline, while the game itself is carrying the name of one of the greatest game franchises in history. Also, the game mechanics of an MMO would impair storytelling at an integral level as in Skyrim and Morrowind, when many of its fans do Elder Scrolls for immersive gameplay.

But yeah, I guess I was being too harsh on it

@beaconofstrength: Totally agree on GW. GW2 was such a major disappointment but I knew they had swerved far from what it was originally intended to be when it got endlessly delayed for 3-4 years. Everything that was good about gw1 they basically threw away.

@spambot: I don't think GW2 was a bad game, but it sure as hell wasn't a GW game. They just took all of its uniqueness and complexity and replaced it with a dull and simple counterpart; not to mention the lead writer of GW2 never even played the original. While the game isn't necessarily bad, it's still one of my biggest gaming letdowns. I just would of prefered if GW2 was just a more updated and refined GW, with a few new features, but keeping the core charm of the game.

T'was a fun ride while it lasted, Guild Wars.

It sounds like Beacon knew what he was talking about, I should check these out. But I wonder if WoW Classic is more fun than modern WoW?..
