As you can see, I have the avatar of an iconic image that appears throughout the Fallout franchise. Avatar of Vault Boy, background of Vault Boy and picture of Vault Boy. You may assume that I'm a Fallout fan because of these 3 things but nope, you're wrong. Reason why I have all this is because I've been playing Fallout Shelter and so far I'm greatly addicted to the game. Now that I've gotten into this, I made the desicion to save up money for both a PS4 and Fallout 4. Because, seriously! Fallout 4 looks like a freaking explosion of incredibility! Amazing graphics, amazing personalization, amazing crafting of weapons, and a lot of more amazing things. Heck, I think this is way better than all the GTA games combined.

But, however, before rushing into the 4th entry, I've gotta start somewhere. Where? I really don't know. Could be the 3rd entry or New Vegas. Maybe the classic ones.

This question is only preferable to be answered by a Fallout fan. Also, I don't want to play the old, classic isometric Fallout games. Take me to the 3rd dimension world of Fallout instead.

GOTY editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas obviously. But it'll take you a longtime to beat both.

@thekillerklok: But what I ask is that if you know about gaming computers. What program do you recommend, what specs, etc.

I would recommend the Ultimate edition of New Vegas as New Vegas is currently the best Fallout IMO but if you're looking for a segue to Fallout 4 then Fallout 3 might be more appropriate as Fallout 4 is made by the same developer as Fallout 3 and would likely have a closer style to Fallout 4 than New Vegas would.

...New Vegas might be funner because of the characters, but 3 is by no means a bad start.

As a matter of fair occasion; I don't think it matters all that much if you wait till the 4th installment comes out or if you dig up one of the older ones since the starting point is gonna be roughly the same and there's not that much connection between the games other than the setting.

That said, getting a GotY edition of Fallout 3 however is a good place to start... but you probably aren't going to be finished in time for the launch of the next game.

Fallout 3 and fallout new vegas are both great. Either will have you addicted for weeks and I doubt you'll be finished by the time fallout 4 arrives.
