Fake Ad Tricks People Into Drowning Iphones

A fake advertisment on social networking sites claiming that the IOS 7 upgrade makes your Iphone waterproof has caused hundreds of people to dunk their Iphones in water thus destroying them and voiding the warranty.

Whoever made the ad is at the same time a genius and an evil SOB. I'm not gonna lie this made laugh. A Software update making Hardware water proof? Seems legit!

People are stupid. This gave me a good laugh.

Back when there was just one, monolithic phone company, a bunch of people got a call from someone claiming to be a representative of said company, and instructing them to soak their their telephone receivers in vinegar over night to improve performance or somesuch.
