A few weeks ago I was at my local Big Johns when I saw a snack pack of Doritos "2nd Degree Burn" Buffalo flavored chips. It was The Office night (or something like that) so I picked one up to have something to snack on. As I ate the chips I found them to be increasingly hot, and eventually to the point where my eyes where watering (I had severely chapped lips at the time which may have contributed) but I enjoyed them so much I finished the bag quickly. These chips were the hottest chips I had ever tasted, and I assumed the "2nd Degree Burn" meant there was a 1st and 3rd as well.
Recently, I've been craving them so I've looked around for them. I even went back to the same Big Johns, but couldn't find them. I Googled the product to see if it had been taken off the shelves for being to hot for the average consumers comfort, but I was taken off track by a report someone had made on the 3rd Degree Burn flavor, Habanero (the hottest natural pepper on Earth IIRC). The reviewers claimed that the first chip was too much for them, and they spent 10 minutes just to get rid of the burn.
So I was wondering, has anyone here tried it? Has anyone who is use to hot peppers had it? I've been exposed to spicy foods more than the average person, but I wouldn't say I could handle the extreme flavors. I currently can't find any of these chips (1st Degree-Jalapeno, 2nd Degree-Buffalo Sauce, 3rd Degree-Habenero) so I was wondering if someone on here knew more about it.
Doritos 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Degree Burn
" @Retnex said:I honestly don't know what that is, but I will look it up :)" @Edamame said:I love Chicken Tikka Masala. : ) "" I love spicy food. "You should try these. I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who has actually eaten spicy foods before (not people who think Red Hots are hot) "

I saw an ad on their bag for a Pepsi made to relieve the pain, but I haven't tried it or even seen it anywhere." @Retnex: I've been hearing commercials on the radio for months now about those chips and the next time you eat those burn Doritos make sure to find a special type of Pepsi that's supposed to help with the spicyness of it. "
I'm not allergic to it, it just sounds unappealing. Yogurt should only be with yogurt lol" @Retnex: It depends on the type of restaurant. Are you allergic? I also don't like a lot of yogurt in it. I am mildly allergic to it. "
So there is Chicken Tikka Masala without Yogurt?
" @Retnex: Then one word... well actually a website. Amazon.com. *Lol.* "The guys who tried the 3rd Degree flavor were willing to send two of their chips (since they didn't finish them) to anyone willing to try. I don't know if I'd like to get chips in the mail lol
I was hoping to find a product locator to see if it's anywhere in the area.
" @Retnex: It might be possible to get it that way. Do you have any Indian restaurants in your area? "Not that I know of. If it's not too advance, I could try to make it myself. I couldn't compare quality to see if I did it right, but I might manage.
But I'm pretty sure there is no Indian restaurants in the area, I don't think I've ever even been to one.

Yeah, I just found a product locator. It says they have it all over my town, in many places I've looked. Of course, it's listing places that have been closed for years." @Retnex: Have you tried checking out various supermarkets? "
It's possible that my Big Johns ran out of stock on it, there weren't very many (about as much as in the picture).

" @Retnex: How about Chinese restaurants? There is a spicy tofu dish. In Japanese cuisine, I am sure you know about wasabi. "
They're all buffets (except for one, which we didn't enjoy at all) but I do love wasabi :)
I had to eat at a sushi place with my cultural awareness club, all I got was wasabi and miso soup
I got 5 bucks to eat a habanero once..wasn't too bad
and 20 to take a cap full of this stuff...WHICH WAS TERRIBLY HOT
MUST FIND DORITOS................................... *leaves house to find a 7-Eleven*
Try Daves insanity sauce yet? How bout theUltimate Daves?
" @Retnex said:Huh, well I guess I'll have to keep looking" @aztek the lost said:same place as the 2nd, some gas station "" finally found these chips, 2nd degree are actually very good (and hot) but 3rd degree is insanely hot and not even a tasty flavor "I love the 2nd degree, where did you find the 3rd? "
