Other sources say that is was an apparent sucide. Man, a rough way to start out Black History month. Ride that soul train to heaven. Love, Peace, and SOUL.

Had to post this:
I still can't believe that he could have killed himself. I know he was dealing with a divorce a while back, but I don't think he was the kind of guy to kill himself. IDK.

Yes.
Was one of my favorite shows growing up. I used to watch this after pre-school and elementary school. It was the first time I heard James Brown.

JAMES BROWN!!! YES!
Now he was a true entertainer! (Not at all like the no-talent losers that bombard us with their CRAP these days.)
@King Saturn:I agree with this
It's true that James Brown's voice wasn't that great, but his stage presence was staggering. The only person since Brown who came along and surpassed him was Michael Jackson.

btw - that Don Cornelius Soul Train Line video was Awesome.
It wasn't his voice which made him great (and yes there were better singers). It was his sense of music, his talent for dope sounds. Many Funk and Soul musicians from that time (from Kool and The Gang to the Meters) noticed him as their musical inspiration. That dude couldn't read a single note but he composed hells of rythms and grooves. He created the Funk. Oh and let's don't forget his bada$§ dancing skills.
why did you post this ? I was already in agreement that James Brown was a Great Entertainer...@King Saturn said:
