Does genetics really make a difference?

ok, this came out of a conversation me and Nobody were having...

would it make a difference to you in real life if the woman you were in love with was an Alien or a Mutant?

seriously, think about it...

personally it wouldn't make a difference to me, but what about everyone else?

i'm honestly intrigued by this...

if you were in the DC universe, would dating an alien bother you?

or the Marvel universe, would dating a Mutant freak you out?

i know it's stupid, but some people have difficulties imagining a different race relationship, let alone a different species relationship.

I am not sure. My first thought when I think alien is like Alien from the movie or something monster looking. But I guess if they are humanoid it wouldn't be that bad. Maybe? Mutants seem different cause a mutant is human. Almost like a different race though like mexican and african. But aliens are from a whole other planet out of the human race. But I mean it might be ok if they are huanoid.

i would love my wife to be a mutant. Mercury, Nocturne, and tons of non humanoid mutants

EDIT: That sounds really bad. Let me clear this up. When I ment monster looking I am talking about they don't have legs but instead have tenicles or something like a octopus. Maybe thier whole body is just one part. That would be hard. I am not talking moster looking as in a ugly person."

Not at all. It all comes down to heart. Who cares if they look different than you? If they make you feel that special pang and your only thoughts are of being with them for the rest of your life it wouldn't make a difference whether they were alien, mutant, or regular human.

Looks are only skin deep, what matters is personality, heart, conviction, and loyalty.

Infact, it would be a plus, someone says or does something derogatory send the other half to take care of them.

Chances are with an alien, even if they look human(ish), their DNA might not even look like ours. It may be chemically different. If kids are important to you, then compatability is a question you'd ask.

Exactly. I mean, for me personally, I want to have kids some day and if some factor is going to negatively affect them I would do everything within my power to avoid that. If that means not having kids at all with the individual I love then so be it. That's what adoption is for i suppose.

When it comes to planning a family, genetics really is everything.

Well, in terms of, like, the tabboo? Long as I can imagine myself tapping it, there's no problem relationshipwise...but, I might hesitate to consider things such as disease, and other health-related details to dating an alien or mutie.

Hey, I'm almost certain Earth isn't the only planet that provides adoption services. Sometimes your want to be a parent surpasses your own bloodline. You can still be with who you want to be, and be a parent.

i mean, thinking about it logically, it was said in X-Men that Mutant genetics are different by 2% to normal Humans... thats more than the difference between us and Chimps...

I don't think that it would bother me. Upon first meeting them it might, but once the initial impressions are over with attration goes a lot further than appearance... well, for some anyways.

Not all normal humans can have children, at least you'd know at the beginning that kids aren't going to happen. I'd personally look for in an alien or mutant the exact same things I look for in a human woman: a low tolerance to alcohol and weak vision.

But if I asked u to think of an alien u would think of something u ve already seen, maybe from a movie or comic book. its like asking me would I like god if I him/her, its sooo unbleivable so impossible to think about that, of course u would immediately put him in a humanoid form but I mean he could be particles he could be everything and anything. if u can imagine him and everything he could be then ur a better man then me

I really don't think it would matter. If I found out the woman I was going to have children with was an alien or a mutant that wouldn't change anything because I still love her and she's still the same person. She's just gonna make our kids kick ass.
