Am I the only person that finds it a bit strange that grown men are watching My Little Pony? I'm not trying to cause an argument I just don't see the attraction to it.

it is very strange to hear of grown men watching something like this... but then again you have some grown men who watch child porn... so the weirdness never ends.

I find it strange, but I don't care what anyone watches unless it's that ^

The only problem with the MLP fanbase is the fanbase themselves who make me want to tear my eyes out.

In my opinion, I think people who watch child pornography/pedophiles act like they are children or have the same mindset as children, hence them still being sexually attracted to kids.

Not saying it's good to molest children and stuff like that, but I think that may be the reason.

I see what you're all saying, I brought this thread up because I made a comment on a video saying that I thought it was pretty sad grown men watched a programme which is basically meant for little girls, only to get about 20 replies from a lot of angry fans lol.

No. No one thinks it's weird that grown men like MLP. No one. At all. In fact, I think it's the social norm for men to like shows about ponies and friendship.

Quite weird. I still think those who watch it do so while high on some sort of narcotic; only explanation.

It's weird even by comic nerd standards.

@JediXMan: watching my little pony high? id be crouched in a corner scared of the horses with spikes.

#10 Posted by blackadamFTW (7882 posts) - - Show Bio

I find it strange. I don't judge them for it, though.

There are some things aimed at kids that I understand grown men and women liking but My Little Pony is not one of them. Its almost creepy

I don't find it weird.

If you actually watched the show you would find that, in terms of plot and characterizations, it's actually quite gender neutral. From the outside looking in it appears that's not the case.

The problem is that when people think "My Little Pony" they think of the 80's version, which WAS girly. The new show is drastically different and far superior.

It's simply unfair to think of the fans as weird. But it's understandable I suppose.

I've been tempted to watch it just to see what they find so entertaining... but I'm afraid that if I do, I'll be roped in.

@GodOfMischief:

Nah I've heard weirder d@-@b

#17 Posted by nickzambuto (19388 posts) - - Show Bio

I watched an episode just to see what all the hubbub was about, and it wasn't overly girly or kiddy or anything. It was just f*cking boring.

#18 Posted by Sexy Merc (42458 posts) - - Show Bio

I don't know; I've never watched it, and don't know anyone that does ... so maybe, lol.

#19 Posted by Inverno (13757 posts) - - Show Bio

I find it very odd, but I don't judge them for it. I am yet to find a reason why a show like this attract kind of crowd different from the say little girls. But hey no one should be ashamed of liking something isn't it?

How is it weird? I don't find it weird at all.

#22 Posted by TheSecondOpinion (625 posts) - - Show Bio

The 80's cartoon?

#23 Posted by Aiden Cross (15726 posts) - - Show Bio

Live and let live. If people watch it and take enjoyment out of it then where's the harm in it. Just because it doesn't fit the 'stigma' of what a man should(n't) do, does not mean it's wrong. People should lose the judging attitude and appreciate them for who they are.

Seen weirder things happening.

#27 Posted by terry2012 (7670 posts) - - Show Bio

There have to be a reason to why they are watching it. It wont sound right not by far, but who am I to judge.

#28 Posted by nickthedevil (14854 posts) - - Show Bio

Definately.

#29 Posted by MarvelGrey (251 posts) - - Show Bio

Maybe they watch it because of Tara Strong as one of the voices. Hell i'm gonna watch an episode just to hear how her voice sounds.

#32 Posted by segamarvel (700 posts) - - Show Bio

@joygirl: Don't judge me. The only reason I originally got into it was because of a fanfic I read that had my favorite superhero in it.

#33 Posted by Joygirl (20854 posts) - - Show Bio

@segamarvel: Was mostly curious as to why you felt it was necessary to bump a two year old thread.

I do find it odd, then again a lot people probably find a grown man in a Spider-Man shirt to be odd, so I try not to judge. :P

Adventure Time and Steven Universe are okay.... but Gumball? The only appeal I see in that show are the crazy looking characters and pretty colors.

Not really. I like some cartoons for ten year olds, we all read comic books about men in spandex with underpants over their pants. Live and let live.
